Silver Springs is Floridaโ€™s ORIGINAL theme park! Itโ€™s right in the middle of Florida in Silver Springs, located between the city of Ocala and the Ocala National Forest. Itโ€™s really a unique Florida attraction, with tours daily on glass bottom boats that have been operating for over 100 years! Thereโ€™s so much fun history here, but for nature lovers, the stars of Silver Springs are the monkeys! Yep, there are hundreds of wild monkeys at Silver Springs. On this adventure, we paddle down the 5-mile Silver River and we see so much wildlife that weโ€™re excited to share with you in this video. Youโ€™ll see lots of wild monkeys, alligators, and even manatees! Silver Springs is now one of our favorites, a Florida paradise full of nature and adventure! Hope you enjoy the episode!

As a Floridian, there is so much history in the Ocala Forest and on the Ocklawaha River. The Silver Springs is a gorgeous spring. Watch those monkeys though, they will attack, especially when they have babies. Our last trip presented a brand new baby and the alpha male was very protective.
  • Hi Paul & Sarah, what a beautiful and relaxing ride! You saw so many monkeys, unbelievable! And all the turtles, manatees, alligators, oh my Goodness! Take care. Anne & Eric
  • We are originally from Louisiana. My husband and I visited the State Park when we first moved here over 10 years ago. The trip was special to me, because my father went on his Senior trip to Florida and went on the boats back in 1964. He had already past by the time we made it here... so I didn't get the chance to share it with him. Thanks for taking all of us on your adventures. โค

In the past the monkey troop became so large and aggressive that a large group broke off and swam across the river and colonized the other side. When I lived there they had two troops. One on each side but Iโ€™m sure several other break ups have happened. In the 70s, we never saw them that far down river. They are aggressive and will bite you so donโ€™t get close. The larger males are particularly dangerous. In high school we would swim down river in the summer. The alligators would just move to another area when we entered the river. Near the take out point enters canal there was the โ€œTarzan Treeโ€. Steps were still in the huge Cypress tree where Johnny Weissmuller would dive out of the tree for the movies. It was our favorite thing to do.
  • This place looks amazing! Can't wait to go! Also, you guys are great on the paddle board. I weeble wobble!

  • Awesome video, you two are so cute !! Thank you for sharing !!
  • @Eco-pu2zs
Cute or not, those monkeys are an invasive species that threaten native wildlife. They also carry Herpes B and YES, I'm referring to the very same monkeys you saw in Silver Springs. Please keep this in mind and be careful when you're on any river in Florida. Thank you for sharing, this is beautiful to watch.
  • Love the new bikes! I need to find that map. It is awesome! We would love to swim there one day. A long time ago, they allowed swimming but not anymore. We have been twice and have not seen the monkeys. One day lol! There were a lot of alligators on your visit plus manatees! What a fun day! You guys should think about a blow-up kayak. I would be a little scared being on a paddle board with all those gators. Great share! ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Hey guys that was a great time. Thank you so much for taking us on this journey with you. Love your passion and excitement for the outdoors, And since I live in portland oregon which is also beautiful but very different it was just fun to watch. Thanks by the way for explaining why there are monkeys there, it had made me wonder. BLESSINGS
  • So glad you enjoyed Silver Springs. I literally live 5 minutes away and hardly ever go. You don't always appreciate what's in you own backyard, so to speak. Thanks for reminding me. :)
  • @suchbunch
