Spyderco Manix 2: "Sprint to Perfection" by Nutnfancy

This Spyderco Manix 2 Sprint run in blue G10 is another Spyderco homerun. In some ways this surprised me because from some pictures I may have passed on the design (at least the regular Manix 2). But the Manix has received a lot of attention from Spyderco knife-designer Eric Glesser and it shows, especially on this limited Sprint run blade shown. Pretty much all of its features are impressive to me on this Manix 2 which will allow it to excel in the EDC, tactical, or even just collectible knife roles. While the regular 2010 Manix 2 offers good value with its 154CM steel, its 5.1 oz carry weight and sabre grind are not super attractive to me. But this Manix iteration is a different animal: S30V steel in a FFG (full flat ground) blade, PERFECT jimping (a first really), incredible strong cage ball lock mechanism, PERFECT and aggressive milling of the the stainless steel liners (making the light 4.2 ounce carry weight a reality), high polish low profile tip-up-carry clip, excellent ergonomics throughout, great balance, an ultra-sharp edge, fast deployment speed, and an ultra tight lockup. The gorgeous blue G10 handles are perfectly textured as well and play nicely with the polished fittings. It is a good looking blade. Some may find the stiffer ball lock disengagement a bit problematic with one hand; I do. But for its strength and smoothness I like it and I have no problems with the polymer lock button. Also the lock spring is well-balanced in all other respects: excellent in-handle blade retention and yet still allowing fast and sure deployment with the 14mm deployment hole. Blade centering in the handle is representative for the entire quality level of this version of the Manix 2: perfect. It carries adequately deep in pocket and draws quickly and it would make a serviceable tactical blade. Value is high for what you are getting: a limited run, highly refined Spyderco knife with high measures of cutting performance, toughness, quality, and durability. About the only real downside will be its limited availability (and yet I wouldn't change that at all). Order it now if you want one and give it a good home. It will be a hardcore user that could bring himself to thrash this beautiful knife. But if that's its fate with you, rest assured this blue Manix Sprint version will be up to your challenges. ///////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 10 out of 10 ////////////////////////////////////////////// Music: www.archive.org/details/Torley_Wong_-_The_Final_Se…

Anyway, I have been looking for a left side carry tactical folder that was smaller than my Emerson CQB Bowie that I carry on my right side but a knife that had similar feel and quality! I put this knife in my hands I had to have it! Ergonomics is amazing. Jimping EVERYWHERE! The speed is awesome deploying in both reverse and standard grip! Awesome KNIFE! Again, i thank you guys for all you do!! Billy Brown, Murfreesboro TN

Awesome video, picked up the all black version today at a local shop and love it. I also like the clip at the end, Eric seems like a good guy like his dad. Always been happy to support spyderco.

Went to a holiday craft fair with the wife and amongst all the christmas decorations one dude happened to be selling handmade and factory knives and he happened to have one of these sprint runs for an unbelievable price. I could not believe it. So glad I didn't skip the fair

Drool:) That spyderco booth review was a home run, and I think it was a star of the show coverage - I am glad you had a little more out of it. That knife looks superb, then again their quality and innovation is what made me a fan all those years ago, and they just keep on justifying my faith in them. Great job.
