In memory of Bo Ulfhøj (1951-94).
In April 1983, I spent 3 weeks trekking in the Himalayas. The journey in this incredible landscape turned out to be an emotional as well as a visually breathtaking experience, and luckily, I brought my Olympus OM2 with a 50mm 1.8 lens. The filmstock used was Kodacrome 64 and 25. I bought 15 films and shot almost 500 slides. Here are some of them.
My friend Bo Ulfhøj, who unfortunately is not among us anymore, was our guide on this trip. He paid half of my expenses so that there were the correct number of participants to meet the demands of the travel agency. I dedicate this video to Bo with whom, along with another friend, I shared a large apartment for a number of years in the seventies and eighties.
Nepal in 1983 was different from today. Maybe I have made a small historical document about ways of life back then. I’d like to think that.

  • Kjære Peter! Det er noe magisk med bilder, som man ikke opplever på film. Var syk en uke med covid, og i de stille morgentimer fant jeg fred med disse nydelige bilder! Takk til Deg 🙏🙏
