A Close-Up Look at the amazing HEREFORD, UK

Published 2022-12-24
The cathedral city of Hereford sits on the banks of the River Wye. Hereford is situated in the West Midlands region of England. The city has good train links with Wales, Midlands and the North West and the occasional train to London.

There is plenty to see and do in Hereford. Visit the cathedral and see the Mappa Mundi. Clergymen drew the map of the world in 1290. If you like museums then head to the Black and White house museum with its local history or maybe try the Hereford museum and art gallery. For open spaces head to College Green for views of the River Wye. Shoppers won't be disappointed as Hereford has an indoor and outdoor market. There are plenty of independent shops and your usual big brand shops.

I traveled by train from Oxford to Hereford with Great Western Railways using a split save ticket.

  • So much history in (my home town) of Hereford. Suffragists/Suffragettes used to meet in Castle Green. Outside of the Cathedral, under the Cathedral Green is supposedly where the plague victims are buried, which is why there's names all along the curb where the path and grass meet. Proud to say I'm from here, and I miss it.

Having spent 12 months at RAF Hereford as a boy apprentice 1970/71 I really enjoyed my time there, but haven’t revisited since, this I plan on sorting this year in my motorhome. I’m sure it hasn’t changed! 😂
  • Hereford looks lovely Andy. I love the narrow streets and the Cathedral looks awesome. Hope you are having a great Christmas.
  • It was very nice to see Church Street in your video, a lot of people dont know where it is. There are so many wonderful independent shops in his street.
  • Another place worth visiting if anyone should ever come to visit the city of Hereford, is the Conningsby Hospital and Museum with the ruins of Blackfriars Priory behind it in Widemarsh street (opposite Wickes DIY). There is a 14th century preaching cross here which is a grade 2 sheduled monument. I think this museum and priory is often overlooked, but definitely worth a visit.

Good to see you in my home city dude. A good start from the Victoria bridge there. All the best. Mark

I like Hereford, haven't been for ages. Went on a day trip there and the coach driver told us to reboard the coach outside the church, not realising there were two. Guess which one I waited outside....

It is an amazing City. We have filmed there before. We have thought it was a vibrant little place 🙏😉

Wonderful video tour of Herford. Love all the brick. Don't see that much in California because of the earthquakes. thumbs up👍. Happy holidays from new follower. All the best to you in 2023. 🤠
  • Lovely video of my home town, although you did miss a trick... you didn't visit Old Market. A must for any walking video tour of Hereford Town Centre and immediate surrounding area.

As somebody who has lived in Hereford for over half of my life, I can say it is nice here, only thing is properties are very overpriced - my mum and dad want a new house but can afford it
  • Everyone in Hereford knows that house at 5:42 but does anyone know if someone actually lives there? Is it part of the school?
