ACW 2024 Resto-Mod: MEUSOC

Published 2024-04-12
Alchemy Custom Weaponry is proud to pay tribute to the United States Marine Corps and their custom combat .45 with our vision on this iconic handgun. While visually this gun resembles a 90s warhorse, underneath this gun is all ACW. Hand fit, oversized components and expertly finished in a hard blast DLC. We’ve even stamped the King’s style thumb safety and slide with the gun’s serial, as was done on the original MEUSOC pistols. You’ll find the frame is adorned with A1-style scallops, as well as no front strap checkering in favor of the wrap-around Pachmayr grips. The mainspring housing offers a lanyard loop to make sure you don’t lose your gun while boarding a stolen cargo ship and the ring hammer is present for maximum testosterone (it’s also period correct, because the Corps’ has style). You’ll notice new ACW markings, styled after the slides used for these pistols as well as vertical cocking serrations and a fixed Harrison “Retro” rear sight.

Keep up the great work Cabot/Alchemy. You should have segments with the gunsmiths talking about the work that they do 👍
  • Beautiful clone guys! KC Kustoms makes an exact replica for about $3,500. They manufactured some of the parts that aren’t made anymore, for example, the pachmayr rubber beaver tail grip safety and the proper sights.
  • Glad you guys are giving attention to a legendary pistol that in many ways got me into 1911's. Looks fantastic!

20 years ago I did my own MEUSOC version using variant 1 and 2 parts, with some extra stainless steel parts I wanted... Did it with an Imbel/Springfield bones. Been shooting it ever since.

Reading up on this pistol on your site it was so damn interesting how that 1911 led up to the famous M45A1. Sadly it was a limited run, I hope and pray this will be a standard "custom production" in the future

This is great. I grew up shooting 1911s and Hi Powers that were my Uncle's. I always set up my 1911s precisely like that, just like my Uncle did; Pachmayr grips, beavertail grip safety (he had the beavertail on hi Hi Power extended). I just foxed my match grade Government up to this, and my Officer, but I also drop in Ed Brown extended oversized magazine release buttons, and on the full size ones, Ed Brown arched ridged mainspring housings for Government or Commander models and on my Officer, a Smith and Alexander Arched and Checkered mainspring housing. Too bad you cant still find the original bulged Pachmayr grips for officers. The new Pachmayrs are made up in a far inferior rubber. Anyway, I really enjoyed this. Thanks. One of these days, I want one of yr blued numbers; Im a sucker for real, old school bluing like I have on my old Smith and Wessons and on my Uberti Taylor and Co., Schofield.
