Did my trimal 5 mo. Ago …. Incredible how long they take to heal. Fingers crossed I don’t get any arthritis … my ORIF had 12 screws and one plate

Impressive treatment of this old injury. Presumably, had that been stabilized with ORIF there would have been likely no issues?
  • I broke my ankle almost 10 years ago, no surgery, just cast but it was fine. For the  last two weeks it started to hurt a bit- but I might have overdone some exercises. I don't want to go to dr again, can I do both these treatments on myself? how?

I am around her age and I can see that she is way out of shape. We need to be looking at whole body fitness. Older gals like myself are generally sedentary and then wonder why these issues with bone and muscle arise. The injury would have probably resolved somewhat had she walked or done some yoga throughout her life. I presently have a serious ankle fracture.metal plates and all but I don't expect my therapists to do all the work for me. That said, this is a very informative and helpful video. Thanks .

Hey tom, hoping you still answer these.... I'm 16 and 1 month 9 days ago I suffered a fall from approx. 13 feet. I suffered a distal fracture of my tibia and fibula and also a fractured talus. I got my cast off 3 days ago after 5 weeks of being immobilized... I'm now working on trying to regain mobility and I have next to no planter flexion. I start physio therapy next week. Any suggestions? Will I regain the mivement? I know it's still early as I just got the cast off

Hey tom, as usuak great video. Was the rocker bottom shoe a temporary addition? Ive heard(not necessarily in any lit) but the rocker bottom shoe isnt ideal as it doesnt allow heel strike in the gait cycle.
  • If she went 40 years after a trimal fracture before arthritis or issues. She should consider herself lucky. Especially without orif to put it in the best place possible

Thanks Adam, Not temp, really helped a lot. Ankle was very hypo-mobile and lacked a significant amount of Dorsi flex. So we just had her get one of those sketcher shoes that had a mild rocker bottom. Heel strike is fine in them.
