I'm impressed not only by her playing, but the fact she's using full-size basses and not short-scaled, 3/4 size ones. 👍
  • @wesley3300
When she laughs at the end of those riffs, it reminds me of the pure joy that comes with really nailing a riff or line. The fact that she’s able to experience that feeling at such a young age will do wonders for her growth. Whether she sticks with bass or not, if she keeps having fun while learning, she will go so far!
  • As a life-long musician and former teacher. Makes my eyes misty watching youth playing. You go girl!! And say hi to your Dad from a stranger.
  • @doberski6855
🤯Not sure what blows me away more. Her skill, or how much fun she is having! What an amazing talent!
  • @lelehbass
Ellen is a very lucky girl to have a father who teaches, supports and encourages her music skills.
  • @ajadrew
The smiles, the laughter, the playing....Just imagine having a Dad like this!!!
  • @calewis55
Dad - I love your sweet encouraging coaching. It is touching and lovely to see. So much fun to see your growth, Ellen!
  • the sheer joy Ellen always shows in addition to her talent makes her absolutely my favorite young artist
  • Her playing and her own reaction to nailing Sir Duke (and man did she NAIL IT) was an epic unto itself. Ellen you are a true Jammurai

I like the fact father and daughter do this together. What a wonderful gift to her, and wonderful example to the rest of us.

What a joy to see a young person who is so obviously having a blast. What talent!!!
  • I LOVE How Ellen's Dad is not only Teaching her Music but also Teaching Her the HISTORY.

Oh sugar I’m in tears, God Bless You Little Angel! God Bless Your Precious Family!!! 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
  • Thanks for always showing that music is supposed to be fun. Keep smiling, girl. You always pick up my spirits.
  • I am in shock each time I watch this kid. Her spirit is amazing and I love that her dad is teaching her respect for others. She has to know the other bassist name, album, and year. She will have an incredible music lexicon and history that will facilitate amazing growth. I am amazed by her skill but shocked those little hands can do that. Physically, it baffles me because as a guitarist, I know the reaches are hard for me as an adult, and a bass has even bigger frets. I am sitting here with large hands complaining, and this 9 year old has seemingly no limitations. She is playing it all with those tiny hands. Incredible!
  • I used to follow you because you were an impressive musician for your age… now I follow you because you’re a great bassist, period. It’s wonderful to watch your progression.

First time seeing one of your videos. Amazing skills! I'm an elementary school teacher, and love seeing kids excel in their craft! This was so heart warming!
  • It is great that Ellen gives information about the music, bass player, the year has been recorded, the band name, the tone, type music. Besides she plays it all the way through. Thank you! Greetings from Tijuana! Her dad is a great teacher. Congratulations both!
