Epic Sax Guy will go down in history as internet legend
  • No shame in not remembering everything, one of the things that makes Eurovision what it is is the massive amount of history. So many songs, so many years, so much everything ❤
  • @JordiVanderwaal
Yup Flo Rida sang with Senhit to represent San Marino in last year's Eurovision. It was a fun performance. Probably surprised a lot of Europeans that didn't expect him to be there. xD
  • The song around the 10 min mark, you mentioned checking out, that's 2016's Ukraine "1944" by Jamala. She's singing about her grandmother's experience, being deported by Russia from her Crimean home to Central Asia in the 1940s. Russia made a stink about this song entering, claiming it to be political commentary on the 2014 occupation of the Crimean, but the EBU judged this song to not be political. It is well worth to watch Jamalas full performance.

15:40 they should have put Olivia Newton-John in the “artist you might know” part. She got 4th place in the year that ABBA won the contest, it was before she got her known fame for Grease.

One thing they left out, thing i believe to be pretty important. Eurovision was founded sø WW2 torn europe could heal and unite. That is beautiful.
  • EUROVISION is really such a fun time of the year tho we get so many songs that get super famous months after and so many memes
  • @Asa...S
Flo Rida competed for San Marino together with Senhit with the song "Adrenalina" Video: Senhit - Adrenalina - LIVE - San Marino 🇸🇲 - Grand Final - Eurovision 2021 Ell & Nikki from Azerbaijan won in 2011. In 2021 Måneskin from Italy won. Lena from Germany won in 2010. The giant guy from Ukraine, Igor Vovkovinskiy, was 7 ft 8.33 in (234.52 cm). He passed away last year.
  • 7:37 'they must have won 2021' the song: Laughs in being 2011 only 10 years later, no big deal
  • @blackfishart
I love Eurovision and just recently has it become easier to see it in the US. Most of the old ones are on YouTube now. When I was quarantined I watched most of them… I liked the “Irish period” I think in the 80s. The technology takes leaps and bounds. Anyway it’s pretty fun.
  • My favourite Eurovision songs are literally the Chaotic ones XD Midnight Gold (Georgia), Shum (Ukraine) and Hatrid mun Sigra (Hatari)
  • @jazzx251
The best thing you can do is watch the next one live (on TV) - you deserve it, you've studied the history, you've studied the lore ... but there's nothing like seeing this for yourself - including the elaborate voting process at the end. Probably next May.
  • Have in mind that all the spectacular props need to be removed within minutes before next participant takes the stage. And, of course, the new prop has to be set up too. The host broadcaster in Italy this year had some issues keeping up with rearranging the stage between entries and the presenters had to chit chat and make time go by for them to finish (only like 20-40 secs or so, but it happened multiple times and was obvious).

4:28 it's finally the time you react to 2021!!! one of the best years ever!! even though most of the contestants were the ones that participated in 2020, they outdid themselves!!
  • @DataLal
Azerbaijan's win was in 2011. My first Eurovision. I was rooting for Italy. Gualazzi's song is still one of my faves.
  • @HaraldSeiwert
Sometimes not the winning song was the most famous but the runner up's or even - as in 1967 - the fourth (L'amour est bleu, by Vicky Leandros for Luxemburg which was a world hit). Or in 1973 Spain became second with "Eres Tu" but that song even entered the American charts.
  • @arwelp
Yup, that Ukrainian giant really was one of the tallest people in the world.
  • @EmoBearRights
It varied as regards judges - they had them up to 97 and then the mostly got rid of them in 98 except for countries that couldn't implement televotes - then the juries returned in 2009 and the votes were merged with the televotes then they split the votes in 2009.
  • kudos to the peerson who made this vid, couldn't have made a better one myself
  • @imrael781
