I feel like people forgot that comedy is it's own genre and not any movie that says something funny one time
  • The death of mid-budget movies caused the death of mainstream comedy movies.
  • The weird al movie is the funniest movie to come out in the last five years. The fact that it is a scary movie-esque parody of music biopics that actually lands ALL the jokes is a cinematic miracle.
  • I think Gabi highlighting random areas in the text at 13:48 is funnier than most comedies nowadays.

"You can call me Vector" immediately changes

palm springs was one of my favourite films in recent years. she wasn't just "randomly good" at quantum mechanics, she spent several lifetimes researching it.
  • Bad dramas are great comedies because the bad attempts at making great drama become hilarious. A bad comedy is just bad, there is not saving grace for it to fall back to
  • @KingOfGaymes
They stink because it feels like most of the options for purely comedy films now are just “more cringe than funny” “trying too hard to be relatable” “children’s humor” or the occasional “woke bad, offensive jokes ensue”

I will say this: the What We Do in the Shadows movie is hysterical and everyone should watch it. The writing is incredible and the timing is impeccable. 10/10 comedy movie

the bad moms franchise solely exists to validate wine moms... the whole joke is "hey we do that ahhaha" stumbles, spills drink
  • "Kids movies that get shoved under the 'comedy' umbrella" - shows Monty Python and the Holy Grail square in the middle xD

I work at a homeless shelter and I've always wanted to say this!!! Bombas ACTUALLY DOES donate socks and we're so thankful for them. They have gotten us thru some....very rough times. Residents of the shelter and staff agree - super comfortable and supportive. And it's not like ten pairs, they donate A LOT. Hundreds of pairs. Maybe even into the thousands. ❤ I felt like sharing that because, ya never know, sometimes maybe brands don't follow thru or aren't as helpful as they say. But we love them sm lol so please buy them 😅❤️

I’ve definitely noticed this! Every comedy movie and special is just constantly yapping without actual comedy with a few jokes about cancel culture thrown in just to make it relevant or whatever.

I still don't understand how the movie "A Man Called Otto" ended up in the comedy section of Netflix as it is, to my understanding, a movie about a suicidal man who ends up finding people around him who can support him. I was in disbelief when I saw it in that section because that movie made me cry a minimum of 3 times!

The highlighting on the text just randomly going into improv mode is sending me 😂😂😂😂

the problem with movies in general nowadays is that so many studios feel the need to play it safe, there are some original ideas, but they’re way overrun by unnecessary sequels and remakes. as well as uninspired copies
  • @HaplessAtlas
at this point when I want a movie to make me laugh I usually just watch a really bad low budget movie, usually horror because the acting is so bad that it’s unintentionally cinematic gold
  • @g00chi
I thought the Knives Out movies were more comedy than drama. I recommend them!
