I agree, I’m in Information Security and I think Network engineering is a great stepping stone for Cybersecurity. Most Cyber professionals know very little about Network engineering.

Hi Dean! I agree with what you just said. The only problem with the network engineering is that you cannot stick to one vendor for example cisco. It is must to learn different vendors like fortinet, palo alto, F5 as an enterprise environment have a diversity of network appliances due to which it becomes kind of difficult to search a entry level network postion because an organization isn't looking for someone who knows only cisco but should have knowledge of firewalls, loadbalancers and maybe cloud.

thank you so much this is very important video

The problem with cloud trainings is some of them you need to pay for each instances or services to practice and avail more feature, not like networks you can have packet tracer,eve-ng and GNS3 to practices offline and online and will save you a lot of money, but yeah this is what I.T you need to invest in premiums.

A lot of CCNPs have CCIEs knowledge 'cause CCIE cert is costly.

I guess the real question is how many network engineering positions will be available going forward. You're correct that not all companies are moving to the cloud but many, if not most, are doing that. And in that context, it will be the major ISP's and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.) that will require network engineers but how many? And that doesn't take into account the potential disruption by AI technologies.

Common, how many people get into CCIE level??? and also afford the cost of getting the cert is at least +20,000$ + 1-2 years prep. Is unrealistic mention CCIE salaries as a reference. That Why my CCNA is number around N° 14.600.000 and a buddy I know he just got his CCIE and his number is around N°60.000, less than 5% of CCNA become CCIE, so all does salaries you are talking is for less of de 5% of the Network professionals
