The Continental 4 - How Can I Pretend

Published 2023-02-18
From back when music like this was called "Soul" more often than "R&B", one of 5 big hits by The Continental 4, which was released in 1971.
I saw them perform live at The Creep theater, which used to stand near the intersection of Parsons Boulevard and Jamaica Avenues, in Queens, New York City. Their other 45s were "I Don't Have You (Baby)", "Take A Little Time (To Know Me) in 1972; "You're Living In A) Dream World" in 1973 and "Loving You (Is The Next Best Thing To Heaven)" in 1975. All except the last on on the old Jay-Walking label! Played on metro east coast USA radio stations like WNJR AM, Union New Jersey and WWRL AM 2600, New York City.
