The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on January 12, 1993. The surviving members of the band (John Densmore, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek) were joined by Jim Morrison's sister, Anne. The induction ceremony was followed by a live performance of three songs, "Roadhouse Blues," "Break On Through," and "Light My Fire," with Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam standing in for Jim.

What a great speaker was Ray. Even today in 2022 it gave me goosebumps to here his acceptance speech. The Doors one of the greatest 60’d bands. 🔥
  • Ray Manzarek is what this world we all live in today is crying for; we need Ray Manzarek so very badly.

"Remember getting high? Feeling the earth and feeling we are brothers and sisters?" You can laugh it him saying that, but people were MUCH happier then than now. Love and understanding never go out of style.

My favorite band in the world. It would have been beyond amazing if Jim were there with them but Eddie most definitely did him justice. RIP Ray and Jim.

i love the fact that the majority of the songs the doors did were equally credited to all 4 of the members
  • Vedder did a first-rate job. I'm glad he mentioned the volume of material between 67 - 71.

  • There were a lot of great bands in the history of rock music...I don't know and I don't care which was the best, the greatest, or the most loved one...but THE DOORS was by far the most different, strange and unique band of all times for me...a class of their own...there will not be another band like them ever...thanks for the memories JIM,RAY,JOHN and ROBBIE...
  • Eddie Vedder did such a great job with this. He and Jim both with very distinctive voices. Robbie always was (and still is) in my list of top 10 guitarists. I was 15 in 1967. Love the Doors catalogue. RIP Jim and Ray
  • The greatest rock band in my opinion! I was a little girl when they blasted onto the scen and my older brothers would play their jams! The Doors: Amazing, innovative, creative, funky, multitalented, and soulful as hell! RIP Jim and Ray!

Omg that voice never fails to give me the Mf chills I’ve never heard anyone come close to making me feel the way Morrison can when singing his songs but I’ll be damned if Vedder doesn’t pull it off the band was feeling him too so bad ass

Eddie Vedder is the only guy who could have done this. What a great jam, all of them.
