Victim Mentality, Depression & Acceptance

Conversations With My Conscience - Episode 19

The premise of this podcast is that I am having a conversation with my conscience. That is the male voice you hear; my father.

We tackle all things life by going through all the lessons I’ve learned with him as my mentor. The ups, the downs, the pain, and the joy. All of it.

My conscience, my ego and myself. This is it.

With God at the centre of it all.

Enjoy 🤍

  • I'm in school to be a psychologist and I would never say that. Yes embrace your emotions but deal them head on. Don't let them affect you to the point you can't keep pushing and move on...

I think the statement “it’s ok not to be ok” isn’t supposed to be a green light to sulk and just be negative all the time. It’s supposed to be a reminder to people that it’s normal that negative things can happen and everyone goes through it. And by acknowledging it, people can figure out what to work on and get better. Whether that’s faith, learning new skills, etc. Overall support people in growth but people need to know where to start to effectively grow.

16:03 you talked about people being stuck in a cycle of literal self sabotage when they don't break away from doing the same old things that bring the same old results, whether in relationships or not and i think it becomes your fault when your soul (for the lack of a better word) tells you that whatever you're continuing now, is a sign of weakness but you still keep on doing it, ignoring that voice. like no, you're not being this selfless person bc of that amazing trait of yours, you don't have it in you to stand up for yourself! there's always a moment (or more) of weakness to trace back to.

Second time watching the video and I absolutely love this! Happy you’re back 🫶
  • Thank you for reminding us that we are all a walking testimony of God's Grace and Mercy, this is so relatable and true but I do not agree with you when you say that depression does not exist...it does, it's not just about sad thoughts, sometimes it's a hormonal imbalance that leads to depression and anxiety ...so maybe shrinks should work more on efficient diagnosis instead of just prescribing antidepressants, as you mention on your last podcast a good "healer" or "shrink" will give you tools to really feel better and heal and not come back every time to him/her. Thank you again, I really appreciate your podcast, actually it's the only one I listen to these days...
