Jelmoli. The department store chain Manor is returning to Zurich's city center. It is moving into the building that will house Jelmoli until the end of 2024.
The handover of the rental space is planned for 2027. Manor says it wants to set up a multi-story flagship store.
Swiss Prime Site decided to renovate the Jelmoli building near Bahnhofstrasse and adapt it to current market needs. The closure of Zurich's oldest department store made headlines across Switzerland.

With Manor, a long-term tenant has now been found to ensure that the building's attractiveness remains secure in the long term, Swiss Prime Site announced. Manor will therefore participate in the investments for the renovation.

The Lindenhof remained a place of civil assembly into modern times. In 1798, the citizens of Zürich swore the oath to the constitution of the Helvetic Republic on the Lindenhof.

In 1851, the Modestia cum Libertate Masonic Lodge (established in 1771) bought the residence Zum Paradies and built a masonic building on the southern side of the square.

In the early 21st century, it serves as a recreational space, a green oasis, and automobile-free zone in the old historic city centre. Its elevated position makes it a popular location for tourists to get an overview of the geography of old Zürich.
