Honestly, this video wasn't even supposed to exist.

We came here with the intention of making a 3 days in Hanoi and Saigon, ya know covering the capital and the biggest city, but as soon as we got here, we looked at each other and decided that obviously we gotta take a crazy trip all the way across this country and see the whole darn thing from top to bottom.

That's the thing about Vietnam - it just sucks you in, there's no fighting it.

We've got our usual $100 USD per day budget, and our adventure starts in Hanoi. We’re going to be taking trains and boats and smaller boats and motorbikes and whatever else we can find as we work our way down to Saigon over the next 2-ish-weeks.

I really enjoyed Josh's commentary on this video. Thanks Lisa and Josh for taking me along on your Vietnam adventure. 🇻🇳

I've lived in Vietnam for almost 2 years now. 1 year in Saigon and almost a year in Hanoi. I gotta say, you did Vietnam proud. I've been to everyplace you went. That small, peaceful, non-motorbikey place in Hanoi is not West Lake. It is Truc Bach... where I live. It's too bad you met the shitty grab drivers in Hue and the rude, pushy women at Ben Thanh market (I loathe that place). I watched your whole 2 hour video in 2 sittings. I love Vietnam.

I watch a lot of travel vlogs on YouTube and you guys are second to none - the quality and professionalism of these videos diaries are greater appreciated
  • @rewindlly
48 and a half mins in before i paused and it felt like 10 mins... its rly nice to see long form content not just be filler

We never watch videos longer than 12-15 minutes, 19 if they are REALLY well done. When I tell you that we posted up like we were watching Lisa and Josh's Excellent Adventure and enjoyed the whole thing in one sitting I am not joking. It was the perfect mix of your personalities, good writing, and visual interest/description of where you went. It's like watching actors only better because you seem like basically normal people enjoying each other and life. So good

I'm only 7 minutes into the video, but I had to stop and comment about how much I'm enjoying/appreciating your editing style, your commentary, and the overall enthusiasm for Vietnam. As someone who hasn't been back to Vietnam in over a decade, I am vicariously living through the both of y'all. Pros: excellent intro that wrapped me in and had me sticking around, great editing throughout, a lot of personality and individuality compared to other youtubers. Love it!
  • @billholder5071
Me and my wife are binge watching y’all’s videos these days and getting inspired!!! Love them.
  • @ben_castle
Your videography is on another level. If you have a chance, I recommend you to explore the north west of Vietnam, places like Mu Cang Chai, Hoang Su Phi, Pu Luong, Ha Giang, Sapa, Simacai, Moc Chau, and Phong Nha in the central. They are spectacular. Ha Giang and Sapa that are known to westerners, but the others are not. If you go to these places on the right month, you can see breathtaking views. To me they rank top 10 places in Asia (not exaggerating ).
  • @StephandPete
The editing on that intro!! 👏Bravo! You're killing it. So fun to see these videos be such a big hit. Hope y'all are proud!
  • @elaineevans8556
Thank you for this reminder of one of the best countries I have ever visited - the smells, tastes, people and scenery of Vietname. Time to do it all again methinks.
  • @nicoleolds1451
I’m loving the longer videos it’s like a movie I can escape in!
  • @FraggleFoot
I know you don’t like showing the disappointing aspects of travel, such as scams. But I believe it’s a wonderful thing to show as these are real world issues you will encounter while traveling. Of all the travel channels my wife and I watch on YouTube, yours are our favorite! It’s good to see good people in the world sharing their experiences and their warnings! God bless and keep you safe!

Hi Lisa & Josh, I honestly lost count of how many times I watched this video. First of all, you inspired my husband and I to spend a month in Vietnam with my 18 years old son - we are flying in 40 days! Secondly, you guys are really amazing! I love the humor, honest opinion about the experiences you've had and the chemistry between the two of you. I have a lot of fun watching your videos. Anyhow, after Vietnam we are flying to Japan, so needless to say I am also watching all your saga there. Thanks for all your hard-work to make your trips an inspiration for us.
  • @MunLeo
I'm Vietnamese, born and grew up in Hanoi. This video made me have a big smile on my face every single minutes. I love your content, and admire the way you described your thought about everything happened around. So relaxed. So cool! Thanks for travelling Vietnam. Hope to see another Vietnam trip of you guys! There's so many beautiful things and stuffs to see and enjoy ;) Love you guys!
  • @beckslarratt
You guys captured it perfectly….Vietnam is simply THE BEST! 😍 Thanks for such a wonderfully made, happy video. ☺️
  • @bobbynguyen9921
This video came up as a random suggestion. Don’t usually watch long videos but decided to put it on as background noise. Couple minutes in I started it over from the beginning and watch the whole thing. Great video!
  • @houseparade1767
I spent 10 days in Vietnam last year and this reminded me of all the things I loved about it! Also love that you show the highs and the lows, no need for the fake YouTube facade here - travelling has its less amazing days, that's just life!
  • @makiliv
Lisa and Josh, you've outdone yourselves! Thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and beautiful experiences you've shared of your time in Vietnam. Thank you!
