When I was a kid and would see a horse trailer on the road I'd make my parents catch up to it so I could see if there were horses inside. I hated it when they were empty. I'm 50 now and still have to catch those trailers for a peek, even though I'm surrounded by horses at home. 💖

All great advance! I really like the tip about continue backing your horse after they are out of the trailer. I am going to add that to my routine.
  • Years years ago I saw a big quarter horse go out the window and get stuck half way, it was not pretty. They did get her out using a picnic table and cutting the trailer apart. I am so glad you mentioned that.

For about 4 years we’d only trailer once a year to go to fair. Never had an issue in the stock trailer. Last year we were able to buy our own stock trailer so we could start going to public trails. First time in, I tied my mare in, then she panicked and tore the metal tie loop thing off the wall of the trailer (luckily no serious injuries occurred). We’ve been slowly working up to her having trailer confidence again. After getting a fair amount of bad advice from other people, it’s great to hear you say many of the things I’ve figured out on my own during this process. Thank you!

Great ideas. However, the last time I hauled a horse loose with nothing on him he fell & ended up with a dislocated hip. Now I have a nice line-bred Deck Of Stars stallion that is a pasture ornament. So that particular idea ppl need to be VERY careful with the speed of the drive & how turns are made.

I’ve said it once and I will say it again. You are an awesome teacher. Thanks so much!
  • Your video was a huge help! I removed the divider in my trailer and my horse is so much happier being able to travel loose!!
  • That is the second time I have heard the recommendation of using the bank robber knot for tying the horse in the trailer. Thanks

Great video! The backing up after unloading tip is new to me. From now on, that is what we will do. Thank you Ryan!
  • Awesome vid mate. In Australia what you did at the end with the horse walking on pass you, we call “self loading” I feel for straight loads its the safest way. Iv seen too many people getting crushed against chest bars by leading on. Keep vids coming you rock
  • A man who hauled horses all his life put my horses loose in a long gooseneck stock trailet. It was great. Prior to this, my horse was very tense. He had been in two road accidents, so he had a right to be worried. I think he liked being able to see thru the slats. I absolutely dreaded moving him until he went loose.

Many thanks Ryan, fantastic video great tips, especially for us newbies 👍❤️💯 Sage is a gorgeous girl, what a great attitude she has! You must be so proud of her❤️🙏
  • I like the trailer. Have seen so many videos of horses having a foot+ drop out the back without the ramp.

This video blew my mind. I didn’t realize I was doing things incorrectly with my horse! Thank you so much for this video.

This is awesome. I see people.... experienced horse people! ... doing things wrong all the time! Like tying them first and the doors are wide open and the divider open. I cringe, because I know what can happen! Thank you so much.
