A psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet, BLACK SWAN stars Natalie Portman as Nina, a featured dancer who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis). A Fox Searchlight Pictures release by visionary director Darren Aronofsky (THE WRESTLER), BLACK SWAN takes a thrilling and at times terrifying journey through the psyche of a young ballerina whose starring role as the duplicitous swan queen turns out to be a part for which she becomes frighteningly perfect.

This movie literally terrifies me more than any horror movie I've seen.
  • Don't take it too seriously, actually this movie showcased the fact that how too much seriousness can make you insane.

As a recovering anorexic who grew up with a controlling mother, this movie portrays exactly how hunger, delusion and obsessive perfectionism make you fall in deep and I absoluteley admire Darren Aronofsky for that.

An unbelievable horrifying performance from Natalie Portman. Totally deserved the Oscar

Such a complex, underrated movie. There’s such an abundance of symbolism, it goes so much deeper than what a lot of people think.

I’ve never been so terrified. I didn’t watch the trailer and i thought it would be a sweet movie of a girl who became a great ballet dancer kinda like billy elliot but oh how wrong i was
  • Everyone and everybody thought this was just a ballet movie turns out they were wrong .

It's so refreshing to see a trailer which doesn't ruin the movie.

I keep coming back to this movie again and again. Aside from it being a cinematic masterpiece I also feel so drawn to the psychological motifs even though it's not at all obvious to me why I feel that way. It's truly terrifying, yet so alluring and almost enchanting. I'm even obsessed with the poster image... I'm scared to look her in the eyes but once I do I can't seem to look away, feels like I'm looking at Medusa. 10/10 truly a brilliant work of art.
  • Natalie Portman deserved that Oscar with her acting from this masterpiece. Still one of the best films ever made. I wish we get more movies like this that deal with obsession like Whiplash and I Tonya. I really hope Last Night in Soho won't disappoint because I have a good feeling it will be like this.

Taking AP classes will probably get me to this point of emotional stress.

This isn't a horror film, it's just our daily struggles with ourselves.

I watched this movie in theatres with my friends back when I was like 13. We were kids and didn’t even know what it’s about beforehand, needless to say it made such strong impression on my mind, so shocking and scary and good. Remains to be one of the most memorable cinematic experiences in my life!
  • I read that professional ballet dancers make somewhere around 30-35k a year. Why do they get paid so little? They train their whole lives, push their bodies to the brink of limitation, and have to be perfect and elegant while performing in front of n audience. You would think they would at least make 100k. I know people will say they are doing what they love but, damn, that's no money at all. You might as well work a office job and make like 50k or something. I would be pissed if I was a ballerina and people like Kim K makes millions while doing absolutely nothing!

This movie is a true masterpiece. The acting, the music, the subtleness. Everything is on point. Spot on.
