  • I bet no one in 1899 woulda thought uncle would outlive 95% of them.

imagine if uncle whispered in John's ears during his last moment "i never really had any lumbago you dumbass"

Dutch asking “who’s with me and who’s betraying me?” just after Micah shot Miss Grimshaw, who was one of the most loyal people out of the gang just shows how much he lost it at that point.

John definitely got his redemption, the way he sacrificed himself for his family and his overall growth since the blackwater heist is phenomenal

It’s funny how at the start we were like “no one will beat John Marstons character” and then we met Arthur Morgan and wow.
  • @KatieCatWalker
In the end, Arthur had the high mountain and Dutch died at the bottom of it.

Sean was such a character, I think his shock factor of death hit way too hard…. Unique guy

“I didn’t lose.” “I stopped you.” “And I told everyone you were a rat.” “That’s winning enough for me.” Those are the saddest last words I’ve heard

“You gotta run and don’t look back” - Arthur (RDR2) “You keep riding and don’t look back” - John (RDR1)

The moment Hosea died was the moment the gang was doomed. Hosea kept Dutch in line for the most part. He was the only guy I think could’ve talked some sense into Dutch.

As for Uncle.. well it wasn't the bullet that killed him. When it hit his flesh it travelled through his body and struck his spine agitating his already very serious lumbago even further. Sadly this caused him to then soil himself loudly, complain his back hurts and then finally succome to his lifelong struggle with the terminal disease Poor old Uncle I'll forever think of you when i lift heavy things RIP

Grimshaw's death hit me the hardest. With all of them, even Lenny who didn't get a proper cutscene, the gang members acknowledged that someone had passed, making comments and arrangements to tend to the body. Grimshaw was the lady of the gang who took care of the camp and kept it running efficiently. She basically helped raise a number of the gang members. When Tilly went missing, she demanded she and Arthur hunt the bastard down and insisted he be killed for touching one of her girls. Then she was shot and left for dead in the dirt, crying out in agony and no one was moving to comfort her or put her out of her misery. She loved on all the gang members like a mother, then was put down like a dog. It stings that this older woman did so much and in the end got so very little.

Saddest moment when Arthur say to Dutch “I gave you all I had... I did.”
  • Sad and unexpected as it may have been, Sean probably had the most painless death of all. He didn't see it coming and he never got to witness Micah's betrayal and the gang falling apart. I still don't know how Micah got away with killing Miss Grimshaw in front of everyone. He just randomly shot her, and everyone just ignored her as she lay on the ground screaming. Did none of the gang members care about anyone but themselves at that point? I feel so bad for Jack at the end of RDR1. He saw his whole family die in front of him. Only three years passed after his dad and Uncle died and he looks like he aged a full decade. He had to bury his own mother. Going after Ross was the only thing he could do to find closure in his tragic life.
  • It’s honestly sad that Edgar Ross is the one who caused all the deaths in the game. He’s the one who hired Micah to try to betray the gang and he’s also the one who had everyone killed in rdr1, Abagail, Uncle, John, Javier, Bill, and Dutch
  • I feel like the saddest part about high honor Arthur is the broken, almost crying voice as he said "he’s a rat Dutch, he’s a rat" even as he’s dying he still tries to warn Dutch
  • @calebcole8407
You can see the look in Dutch’s face when he realizes Arthur never betrayed him

as much as i love arthur, john’s death was definitely the most heartbreaking in the story. All of that struggle, all of the stuff he went through for the gang and his family, only to get brutally betrayed and gunned down. At least arthur had the luxury of having a sort of glorious death, he fought until he couldn’t anymore, and the hope that he could help john helped him rest easier. John just got betrayed, lit up with little to no warning, after everything he did to save himself, leaving his family to suffer, ultimately making arthur’s efforts in vain
