I Miss My Mom

Published 2020-05-11
My mother was an incredible woman, and I haven't been giving myself the space to remember her lately.
I'm so glad I made this video. I'm so glad I've been letting myself feel all of my feelings. And I hope watching this encourages you to do the same.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom.

Thank you guys for sitting with me in some of the dusty corners of my heart. Have you ever lost someone? How is their life still affecting you today?

What a wonderful tribute! I had the honor of living in a household with your mother and being in her wedding. She is the holiest women I have ever known! As you say she was so vulnerable with her emotions. She was not afraid to LOVE.I I experienced that more than once! My heart melts when I think of her.
  • OMLANTA!!!! Dude like seriously. Your the strongest women I know!! Your amazing :) 😃 You are not alone and I never met your mom but she raised you amazingly. Your love is a motherly love and omlanta. I have no words. Your video hit me and so many so hard and ugh. Just know your not alone and that your love is amazing. Your strength is amazing. Every time you love yourself and love your siblings, you are honoring your mother and her love for you. Her love is not gone because it lives in on her children and her family, in those of us who were so blessed to get to know such a treasure of a person. You are a treasure, and you have so much love to share. Please keep doing so, as it that love is so essentially you.

I completely understand what you mean with watching her love you while she transformed. It was so hard to watch my mother go through the same thing but in just one year. However, the good memories are your fuel in bad times. Talking about her with your siblings and family, keeps her love ever present. Your mother is present within you and I see it. I never had a bond with her but I can see it. You are not alone, not on this  journey by yourself. Thank you for this glimpse into your life and for the chance to be there for you. Even if it's by video. ❤️
  • Hard to believe you have been in denial about dealing with her loss. Please please please allow yourself to grieve your loss. At the same time grateful you can celebrate the saint she was. She was a roomate in college & friend i will never forget. You & your sister will aleays be so special, an extention of Annette. Even when i dont see you often, you will always be so special. & your aunt Joyce loves you so much.
  • How dare you make me almost cry. Also, "Kill, kill, kill!" is from Annie, which happens to be our family movie of the month! Your mom must have suggested it to us ;)
