I met Paul McCartney in 2000 on an MTV Party for Madonna. There were tons of celebrities there so everyone was very relaxed. I got a chance to talk to him one to one at the bar. He was such a nice and normal person. He made me totally forget that it was actually him. He introduced me to his family and they were all so sweet. Stella McCartney made a song out of my name "Rico" from the top of her head. I hung with him the whole night alongside Royston Langdon (lead singer/bassist of Spacehog. Later that night Cheryl Crow‘s management ask Paul if it was ok for her to meet him and she came up to him completely nervous and jittery. They thought that I was part of his entourage 😂. They started asking me a lot of questions about him😅, when he left to go to the restroom. He came back looking for me because we were talking about music influences and bass players, he wanted to finish the conversation! Later that night, Fieldy from Korn joined on and it was a night of the bass players🎸✨…such a solid gent Paul McCartney!
  • I heard a great story from Colin Hay from men at work. Paul McCartney and Hay are friends and Paul and his wife were in LA. Hay heard he was in town and invited Paul to dinner at his house. After the meal hay had to go into his office to make an important phone call. When he came back Paul McCartney was doing the dishes in the kitchen sink. Hay said about 2 weeks ago a young musician asked him how do you know you’ve really made it in the music industry? He thought about it and said when Paul McCartney is in your kitchen doing your dishes - you’ve made it!!!!

I love how not one of them had a bad word to say about him. The man's a legend IMHO.

I enjoy Paul's stories of the Beatles. Like the one when John walked home and saw people playing cards in their front yard at early hours of the morning.
  • I've met Paul back 2005 in Rye; even had a drink with him, so down to earth, unlike some famous people.
  • My friend met both Billy Joel and Paul McCartney backstage at radio city, they were so nice to him and took time for pictures and a chat

15 years ago, I was a Dial-A Ride driver in SoCal. Every Sunday morning KLOS radio station had "Breakfast With The Beatles" 3 Hours of nothing but Beatles music and interviews from people that had stories of meeting or interacting with the 4 members. Being behind the wheel most of the day listening to all the stories and music One particular story really stands out being almost improbable and or unbelievable. In the early1970's at the beginning craze of the super popular TV show, "Happy Days" Paul McCartney wanted to meet Henry Winkler, (The Fonz).  So, Paul's agent contacted Henry's agent and set up dinner with Paul's family and Henry's family. The dinner went well, and both enjoyed each other's company. When they were leaving the restaurant, paparazzi and a mop of fans rushed to get a closer look and get autographs. When it was discovered that the fans were only interested in getting close to Henry Winkler, it was Paul McCartney that was holding the fans away from Henry Winkler. It's an almost unbelievable story, because who could ever come up with a story where Beatle-Paul McCartney had to do crowd control for another celebrity. Crazy!
  • Paul macartney is the most talented human alive….everybody is in awe of him

I have met Paul before but I was a baby so I don't remember anything 😭😭😭😭😭
  • @taisyalover14
I met Chuck berry in Massachusetts I was so tongue tied I couldn't form any words he turned to my girlfriend at the time and said can he talk 😅
  • He was spontaneously kind to Mackenzie Philips when she was going through a terrible time. S’all I need to know.
  • I’ve heard some of these stories already, but they’re still hilarious. 😂 And the one about Linda coming to find him on horseback is like 😮
  • Part of me really wants to meet Paul McCartney and another part really hopes I never do because I feel like it would turn out like Bill Bailey’s story

i met paul newman once. after filming on location in kcmo for the film "mr. and mrs. bridge" one of their assistants called a cab to join her employer. it was a $3 fare but she didn't have the money. so she went inside to get it and newman came out and said very angrily "who called the cab?" no one had any money less than a 20 and i was stiffed for the fare. like someone as rich as paul newman was too cheap to pay $20 for a $3 fare. rich people are a-holes. i also once had 3 members of the rock band "white snake" in my cab. before their concert in kc all they wanted to do was go to the BIGGEST shopping mall around and pick-up chicks. they arranged a pass for me to their concert but i didn't go. i don't like white snake's music. besides it was only a pass for ONE and there was no backstage pass. so i passed on the pass.
  • The Packers were playing a scrimage game at East High School and I was across the East River when I looked over and saw number 4 standing all alone and by himself I could clearly read FAVRE on the joursey He had his back to me So I called to one of my friends and said c'mere it's Brett Favre Brett heard me and turned and looked me right in the I and did I say "Hey Brett You're the best QB Green Bay has had the pleasure to see. Nope I was absolutely star struck He didn't say anything either. My nephew is a Music Teacher in NYC and durring the summer he has a fruit stand on Long Island Paul McCartney stopped by to buy some fruit. Brian is a hugh Beatles Fan and he told me I completely froze up and didn't say one word at all. I said I know the feeling. But I saw Ringo in Jimmy Kimmel and he said Paul was the farter because the other 2 were now gone. So he wasn't really serious calling Paul Mr Silent but deadly.
  • Nice that after the 80s when he seemed a bit passé, in the 90s he got the respect he truly deserves. When we look back musically, The Beatles will be up there with the greatest cultural influences of the 20th century. If only Mr Lennon had lived on to fuel their rivalry in song writing and partnership.
