In this video, we investigate the big questions: does Barry Allen exist in the DC Animated Universe? Is he the Flash in the Superman cartoon? Did he die a horrific death, or did he ever exist to begin with? And what in the world is that Kid Flash costume in the museum? We explore the implications of his existence and compare and contrast the versions of The Flash from the TV show, the comics, the books, and more. If you're a fan of The Flash, then this video is for you!

In my head canon, The Superfriends fought the Anti-Monitor in their own Crisis, which resulted in the birth of the DCAU.
  • @SpiderS2099
Idea of Barry being lost and forgotten due to Reverse Flash is genius and would make a really good DCAU movie.
  • @aaronchavez5335
I like the idea of nobody knowing - that Allen sacrificed himself to save the world and nobody would ever hear about it, and that nobody realized it was a new guy when Wally took up the mantle, because he moved so fast. A totally seamless legacy - in a hundred years, it'll be impossible to tell where Barry ends and Wally began - and that's probably what they wanted.
  • I like the idea of Barry existing because it furthers the idea that this is already a universe where a lot of important events have happened
  • @leafjonin7
What if Barry's sacrifice rewrote the fabric of their reality erasing Barry from memory but his presence still caused Wally to be Flash
  • @Goddessllias
Honestly, I really like the idea that Wally just took up the mantle and mostly wasn't letting people know that there was a change of hero. Nobody knew that Barry had died because neither of them wanted people to think that their hero could be killed.
  • Remember that Wally was completely forgotten in New 52? What if something like that happened to Barry in DCAU?, He existed, but in some time saving sacrifice, He was completely erased
  • @Rhented
I think in the end, I think it’s just nice for Wally to get some recognition out there at such an early time for a lot of kids watching comic shows. It gives them a different flash to admire and can lead them to wanting to see him and the other flashes.
  • @JokingGoof
I like the idea that barry was canon and just erased himself from exsistance, due to causing time paradoxs. Maybe this could have been explored if we've gotten a FlashTAS starring wally.
  • @evilyoshimaster
I like Barry being in the DCAU because it adds a level of tragedy to his character and gives him a nice little bit of extra emotional connection with Batman.
  • @Awesomest915
Maybe it’s a Spider-Gwen situation, where Wally got the lightning+chemicals treatment INSTEAD of Barry, hence Barry remains an ordinary forensic scientist.
  • @TheInkTank
Another great vid! I like the idea of Barry being there but I think it'd be fine if he wasn't, or if he was but got erased and changed the timeline slightly.
  • @undeaddragon40
I like the idea of Barry predating Wally as the Flash because I love both of them and having Barry exist, even if he's dead, really helps make this Earth seem more developed and gives you feeling of a longer history than what he got to see
  • @Underscorezeus
I like the idea of Barry existing but I wish we could've seen him if we did
  • @Pierced_Light
I really love the idea of Barry Allen in the DCAU, I’m personally a Wally fan myself but looking into extended lore and storytelling is a huge passion of mine. This is definitely a binge worthy channel and I can’t wait to watch more of this channel. Greta video good job. Love the work!
  • @flashskywalker1380
Headcanon: Barry fought Thawne to the end of time and instead of becoming the bolt of lightning that made him the Flash he and Thawne became the bolt that chose a new Flash(Wally West) while also erasing them from existence and memory. Wally was a huge flash fan but with Barry being erased Wally is only subconsciously inspired by him and basically lives the same life he once did. Idk terrible explanation but ya lol nice video!
  • @marcgravatt1051
I like to think Wally is probably about the same age as Nightwing, and was Kid Flash in his mid to late teens around the same time as Dick was Robin in the BTAS era.
  • @retired_orange
Love the idea that there was a Crisis or Flash/Reverse Flash battle that took Barry out of canon, for all intents and purposes. In this iteration of the world, Wally was just always the Flash. Or, like in New 52/Rebirth (where everyone forgot Wally West) everyone has simply forgotten Barry. It’s kind of sad.

The segue into that sponsorship segment was so good that I didn’t skip past it. Good job
