Hi Kelly, I am from the Oregon Coast, most seafood stores will give you ice to transport. Also it is illegal to take female crabs in Oregon, so what they sold you is correct. Cooking crabs with Myrtlewood leaves is a tradition on the Oregon Coast, Old Bay is awesome. Those are some really nice crabs, crab is my favorite food, you are what you eat... Glad to see you are having a good time. P.S. The ducks were Mallards, the males (drakes) have the green heads. The geese are common on the west coast, they are Canadian Honkers.

you need to boil Dungeness crab in saltwater. actual ocean water is best but you can add salt until it tastes right. i personally don’t use old bay on Dungeness. they taste perfect so why mess with that by adding spice? and you need to make sure the crabs are submerged in the boiling water. also when you take the crabs out of the boiling water you need to put them immediately into ice water to stop the cooking process. nice to see you traveling to the NW. love your content.

The geese are Canada Geese, otherwise known as Canadian Cobra Chickens. Try and approach them and you'll see why they have that name - they will attack you. The green head ducks are male Mallards and the brown ones with them are the females. Great vid as always!
  • I love your videos cuz it feels like you’re taking everyone on the trip with you ☺️🙏
  • I love the way you talk straight to us,like if you were having a one on one conversation. I see you got a break from the Blue boys...I bet they missed you..... you all make a great team. Look forward to the next one...

Kelly hi . I am from spore. Our best crab comes from Sri Lanka. When it arrives by plane there are on average only 3 to 4 twin shell crab out of 2000 crab. They are very expensive. These are crabs that are to shed their shell in order to grow bigger. They are always hiding. Before shedding their shell they have another shell hence the name. You threw it away . The yellow stuff is a delicacy. Thanks for reading

I live in Albany which is 30 minutes from Salem! Much love to you, bluegabe, and deermeat. Love the videos

Those were Canadian geese and the ducks with the green heads were male mallards and the brown ones were female mallards. Also a suggestion next time you make the crabs make them in Ocean water . Great video Kelly keep the content coming.
  • If you were to pop the back shell off the crab and clean them, into the two halves, they will last on ice. We always clean ours before cooking them up here in SE Alaska. You can fit more in the pot and you don't have to worry about PSP possibly being in their stomach organs and then in the pot you cook the most in.

Welcome to the great Pacific Northwest! Our summers are beautiful here! Winters are cold but also beautiful! I live in Washington state...

Lincoln City is the home of the World's smallest river, the World Famous "Mo's" Seafood shacks that have the best clam chowder you will ever have, period full stop. The geese you saw were Canada Geese, the ducks were Mallards and I hope you are enjoying the heck out of Oregon!!! Of the places this Canadian Boy has been in the western US, Oregon has some of the most spectacular ocean vistas and quaint harbour towns. Two more things, Go to Mo's if you can for some clam chowder and whatever else you fancy, oh and Sasquatch are real and all over that neck of the state. :)

Hi there from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Those geese are Canada geese. We have Dungeness crab up here too and the locals fish for them with traps. Enjoy your time in Oregon, it's beautiful.
