No, actually. It's just 11 minutes of GM Hikaru running down the clock against Magnus. 5 instances in this compilation. Not much chess, but a lot of head nods, ceiling stares, and coffee sipping. As the commentators point out, it is perfectly within the rules if a player chooses to do that, and also, in case you didn't know, he doesn't care. Literally.

  • This is just good strategy. Alireza was doing the same thing to Hikaru in the bullet finals. I don't know why people are getting butt hurt over this outside of blind Hikaru hate.

tried to do it to Alireza too end up embarrassed 🤣🤣🤣

Many people hating on Hikaru for no reason. Bleeding the clock in that competition where he is ahead is actually a good strategy. If he didn't waste time like he did, they would have had to play another match which could have led to Hikaru losing to Magnus.

The dirtiest gamesmanship possible and horrible sportsmanship are a huge part of this man's legacy.

See, that’s how you literally don’t care Hikaru Crybabymura. Now you try.

I really dislike Hikaru, but this is within his rights to do so, it’s totally legitimate. But I don’t think this is how these matches are supposed to be played. Chesscom should maybe do something in order to prevent this although I don’t exactly know how either.

Can someone explain stall 4 how did hikaru won by bleeding up the time
  • @BillyCarsley
Let's invent a chess format that's really really stupid. "I love it!"

I thought this time stalling was to take rest since they don't have any time to take rest
