After 8 years and a few seasons being on and off, I've had enough. This video is just to talk about my history and experience with the game as my as my frustrations. If you still enjoy this game, there's nothing wrong with that. I just don't want words to be put into my mouth and be misrepresented with inaccurate statements and claims. I'll probably play quick play every now and then but my days of solo queueing competitive are over for the time being unless some major changes occur and even then, I'm not sure if it'll be enough to get me invested again. Sorry if this isn't the most well put together video and I know I can be a little difficult to understand but I hope you still enjoyed. Thank you for watching!

Holy shit. I did not expect this to blow up so much. Thank you guys, from the bottom of my heart. I just want to reiterate that this is just my personal experience and opinion. If you enjoy Overwatch 2, THAT IS COMPLETELY FINE. There will be things that we agree and disagree with but we need to be open to civil discussions and conversations if there's any hope of any of our feedback getting through. If people want this game to be taken seriously, it needs to be treated as such. Also, to be completely fair, there are bad takes from both 5v5 and 6v6 but that doesn't mean that we can't come together and compromise. For those of you who are commenting "Just stop playing and move on", sure I could but that's how products go stale and stagnate in quality. Some people are more passionate about things than others and don't want to see a product or experience they once loved to continue declining. It's like watching a close friend make bad decisions. Yes, it would be easy to just write them off as hopeless and move on, but who wouldn't want to see them improve? I challenge anyone with the sentiment of "just move on" to apply that same feeling towards something they are passionate about that they've been invested in for years. Once again, for everyone that watched this, whether you agree or not, I hope that it inspires you to be outspoken about your passion. Thank you for sharing your opinions and experiences. Thank you for the crazy support. Thank you so much. We go agane. "It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale." - Uncle Iroh (Avatar: The Last Airbender).

blizzard shouldn't worry about people getting mad about the game. They should worry when people stop caring, and that's where we're at.
  • @frozhq5899
Overwatch deserved so much better and so much more. I remember in 2017 and 2018 I feel in love with the characters, the lore and gameplay. Fuck you Blizzard.
  • @Gimnbo
You know what I miss? The cards at the end of the game. It was a minute where people could decompress and talk shit about the POTG with each other. Now you just see "tank diff" 2 seconds before the game unceremoniously boots you out. There's no space for randoms to feel like they're even part of the same game community.

"It's become almost impossible to differentiate between who's really good at the game and who's really good because of the game"... Damn.

This makes me sad... I got OW1 when it came out, I was so in love with the cinematics and the universe Blizzard was building there. I used to play all day long with friends, having fun with a game that had a lot of variety of playstyles. My aim sucks, but I didn't need it to play Tracer or Zarya and making a play that could turn the game around. I had to smart and have some game awareness. This was fun... Until it wasn't. When Brigitte came out the gameplay changed so much. I was never too much of a competitive player, I would play for a bit, get platinum and leave, but soon quickplay was becoming too annoying, having to play "meta" characters on QP was BORING. By the time OW2 was announced I had already given up. Scandals, dumb changes and a lot of promisses with no guarantee were enough to keep me away from the game and I'm happy I didn't waste my time. I still miss my time having fun with OW1, but I know that that game is not coming back. I'd say I wish Blizzard would just kill the game and make an animated series, but even the lore of the game is so messed up and broken that this would NOT be a successful show...

i ve reach a point where I hope to see "overwatch classic" coming out just to have fun again
  • @spinny4342
If Blizzard were to come out and say "We are NOT coming back to 6v6" I would finally reach my conclusion and delete the game and not touch it again
  • @_Majunior
A lot of OW2 fans make me feel like I'm being gaslit. Videos like this make me feel like I'm not crazy or misremembering. The lower skill ceiling and lack of expression in the game is so saddening
  • @glurak
the amount of creators no matter how big or small, that came out and vented their frustration about the state of the game is incredible and it really goes to show that the whole community is suffering. And yet we dont get any type of response from blizzard. They been letting us to bleed out since ow2 release
  • @Firecast_
I first played overwatch during its last year when the game was at its “lowest point”. I’m gonna be honest, I had more fun in overwatch’s last year than I’ve ever had with overwatch 2
  • @adhf158
its crazy how many og overwatch players are quitting. and obviously the devs still arent waking up
  • As a Valorant player, I always complain about some of Riot's decisions, but I remember Overwatch players having to deal with Blizzard and I think "Riot isn't that bad"
  • @dummlott
That hot take doesnt even seem bad, blizzard flat out made the game easier to play. And I hate it
  • @JarroKarro
I think I'm done too. Usually at endorsement level 4 since OW2 started. This last season was so toxic and full of angry players, it started to affect me. First time ever in a game I got punished, getting chat restricted, from responding back to the negativity with negativity. It's so hard to have fun now, with everyone raging, abandoning games, throwing. And the bots. I was getting at least one botted game a day, where the char would walk forward til it hit a wall. Then would turn 45 degrees and start walking again. They would finish the game woth zero stats acrss the board, except their deaths
  • Stopped playing shortly after OW2 dropped. Will never go back. Played OW1 religiously. Game's dead to me now
  • @theredguy92
In my opinion the Overwatch team never understood what made their game different and unique. Characters like genji, tracer, ana, mercy, rein, winston offered gameplay loops that you cant find in other games. Instead of leaning into the things that made OW stand apart they leaned into characters like hog, soldier, cass that are not as unique and have similar gameplay loops you will find in other fps games. Overwatch was good because it was different but it doesnt seem that different anymore. PS immortality doesnt belong in this game unless its an ult

Hey there, I’m an metal rank overwatch player, playing since very roughly 2018. as a casual player, that actually starts feeling the pain of overwatch 2 (whilst currently playing in low plat) wants to tell you, that the “the community” part of this video is probably the best summary of how OW2 feels now compared to back then in Overwatch 1. And funnily enough, I have to say that I actually would want the end of OW1 back (when it basically didnt even recieve any updates anymore..) since it felt better back then. Back then you could actually express your skill and be proud of yourself rather than being annoyed that your reaction time with your kiri suzu is to slow resulting in a lost fight for you xD Thanks for the video, as I said, this marks a very very good summary of the current state. have an awesome day! <3

I think what feels off to me is that players aren’t really working together. Sure, a TON of OW1 games lacked team cohesion, but OW2 feels more like five people playing their own game in the same lobby. It’s so hectic and nonstop that I’ll find myself apart from my team constantly without even noticing that we split up. And then…the characters. What happened to the substance? Why is the lore nonexistent? The new heroes are fine, but who are they? Why did they join Overwatch? And for that matter, what does Overwatch even do? What caused the world to turn their backs on them? The (now standalone) story missions didn’t elaborate on any of it, and it’s been years. No wonder Michael Chu left; Blizzard gave him no room to tell the story! I’ve grown attached to my favorite heroes, but only because I can imagine my own stories for them. We need an actual story that we can sink our teeth into. (Also, as far as I’m concerned, the “Bomb Flats” thing isn’t canon. They took the funniest, most chaotic character in the game and gave him the least interesting origin possible.)
