Never realized how supportive Martin was. Even the very small things he says like "nobody wins"..or helping him to get a teaching position.. It helped him a ton!

It pretty cool that there were people around him supporting him throughout the years

Josh Lucas is the role that is overlooked in this film, perhaps because his acting is so good you don't take notice.
  • "Now you best ring Alicia, you're going to get me in an awful lot of trouble"...always my favourite line in the film. I love how full circle that scene is for the film.

What happened to Martin , we never really got to know ... He was a real friend

Russel Crowe, certainly but this is Jennifer Connelly's absolute best performance that stands right alongside Russel's performance

I dealt with a spell of paranoid schizophrenia due to the side effects of an epilepsy medicine I was prescribed for 4 months. I cannot stress the enough the strength of mind it must have taken him to simply ignore his hallucinations. I know from the outside it may seem easy to do once you know they aren't real, but it's not that simple.

Isn't it nice he got old but somehow his wife didn't? She looks identical over 10+ years, while Nash is graying and somehow picked up more of a homespun Southern accent. That's Hollywood. Can't have something like an old main love interest if you're a man. Anyway in real life Nash ruined his relationship with her during this period and eventually was a platonic tenant of hers until they romantically reunited.
