Wait. She never explained how getting rid of all this food helps save the agriculture. Can someone explain this to me?

If she has a bit of juice on her like she said then she really needs to shower first before leaving the facility. The entire point of confiscating food items is to prevent the spread of plant diseases across international borders and if she has juice on her at the end of the day when she goes home this kind of defeats the purpose because that juice could have some harmful disease that will get loose into the environment.

She just cut an avocado pit in half. How. Even.
  • Once I had to chug a bottle of luxury 'Moët & Chandon' to stop it from being confiscated. I simply couldn't stand to see such a masterpiece of a champagne being wasted.
  • I just can’t stand seeing all these fruits go to waste tho 😬

I brought back whale/reindeer/moose meat from Norway to the US, and it got confiscated... Good to know where it went.

The TSA really is exceptionally good at being a nuisance.

Tbh there’s no way that some packaged and processed serrano ham from Spain is gonna destroy the American agricultural system. WHERE DO YOU EXPECT THE INSECT OR DISEASE TO BE IN A PACKAGE THAT HAS BEEN SALTED AND CURED FOR MONTHS, THEN VACUUM SEELED?
  • @ru95
You didn't actually tell us the whole story.... what is the grinder, where does it go afterwards??
  • @teagz1106
How sad that so much food is wasted... The only way to really prevent this is just to not bring food when travelling. We cannot change the fact that it will be confiscated and thrown out, but we can prevent the waste from happening by not bringing contraband foods across borders in the first place.
  • for everyone saying this is stupid - trust me, I work in agriculture, and even just one invasive bug or bacteria can have a devastating effect.
