Welcome to Seoul, South Korea! It is our first time traveling here and we are incredibly excited to explore this city, its food, history and find out why it has been named Asia's 'economic miracle' and share our first impressions. Seoul is a city well and truly a city of the future and we want to see how it compares to similar places we've visited in the region (for example Tokyo) and also if its location near the border with North Korea has any affect on daily life in the city. Travel to South Korea is surprisingly easy and we entered for all 90 days without a visa, so we have a lot of time to travel and explore this facinating east Asian nation.

Watching from NZ. We were in South Korea in April last year we both loved it. The people are so respectful.
  • south korea is not a peninsula, practically an island nation. they surrounded by powerful countries CHN, RUS, JPN. so they’ve worked super hard just to SURVIVE. their tremendous passion and effort might be the reason behind this miracle. that's why i love south korea so xuckin much.

South Korea was an amazing place to live and explore. The food never disappointed and being able to travel, hike, and local festivals gives everyone something to do. Hi from the USA. I am excited to see what you all get up to. It was a place I was lucky to call home for two years.

The land of quiet mornings However, from 4:30 to 5 a.m., there is a constant line of people commuting to work on buses or subways. God blesses the Republic of Korea because they are working hard and respecting their parents. Because they have no resources, but the only resource they can boast about is people.

It wasn't just poor in Asia. It was one of the poorest countries in the world even in 60'. Poorer than most African countries. It's not just wealthy in Asia. it's one of the wealthiest in the world. 11th largest economy or so. Wealthier than most European countries...

Never been to Seoul but I will definitely visit after viewing this video !
  • Well, It's even more surprising that you guys are surprised by 2023 to see a country that was already classified as an advanced economy country by the IMF and the World Bank in the 1990s.

Korea's rapid growth was attributed to the sacrifices of U.N. veterans from 16 countries who fought to prevent communism during the Korean War. Thank you to all the young people in all countries who helped Korea at that time.❤❤❤

Hey Matt and Julia. Seoul is one modern, mega-sized city. One country we've never been to. So interesting. The "old town" is so much more my cup of tea. Looking forward to Uzbekistan with you. Your filming and commentary are so fun. See you soon! BTS's cover of Hey Jude on Colbert on US TV is the only "song" I know! Lovely vlog/video/clip. Merci, thanks, gracias, grazie, vielen Dank, etc.
