The most energized and most exciting part of the thunderstorms on Saturday is over, but many people around Puget Sound captured moments when lightning struck this past weekend. KOMO Chief Meteorologist Shannon O'Donnell takes a look at how and why this nature phenomena is so rare in the Pacific Northwest.

    It was interesting to watch the lightning through my window. I thought my 2 cats were going to be scared, but they weren't. They were both in the window watching with interest. It's the first time they've ever seen lightning.

    where I'm from in the South this is a good indicator a tornado or hurricane could happen, glad nothing did. I miss lightning storms <3
