Video of the moments leading up to Texas mother Taylor Rogers being held face-down in the grass by police as she was attacked in the face by fire ants has been released. After Santa Fe Police Chief Ruben Espinoza told Rogers she couldn't make a left turn onto her son's school grounds, Espinoza said he learned she had gone on to drive in reverse at the drop-off area. That's when he stopped her and handcuffed her hands behind her back while she was face-down in what turned out to be fire ants.

  • All this because of a stupid left turn in a parking lot? BOY, do they know how to escalate things quickly!
  • @mshaw9695
He said it took longer cause she resisted. I don’t think she resisted. I think she was being attacked by ants.

So, the chief thinks that you need to lay without struggling while Fire ants chew on your face? What a inhuman monster.

Noncompliant? She was being attacked by fire ants! WTF!!!
  • @xjcrossx
Odd that the chief says "She was driving in reverse towards children so I had no choice but to block her in with my vehicle." But the camera then shows him in front of her. Hmm...

The cops had no reason to ram her car, pull her out the car, or throw her on the ground. It was all just a power trip. They all should be fired.

Dude there’s no way to cooperate when you’re stuck on the ground being attacked by fire ants anyone would be freaking out
  • @MewingMeatball
The fact that the cop tried to play off the reporter's question just shows that not everyone is fit to be a police officer.

A fire ant is the only insect that simultaneously bites you with its pincers, spits acid on you, and stings you with it's tail barb, rotating while doing so.

woman being forced onto the ground, getting stung by hundreds of fire ants on the face and screaming in pain cop: but she wouldnt comply :(
  • @IkaikaArnado
It wasn't necessary to take her to the ground in the first place.
  • @zig533
I did not see one kid walking around when the cop decided to pull her out of the car.
  • @Thorinox
There was no reason to be that aggressive to her, they could have just had her place her hands on the back on the squad car like normal.

If she was backing up and you had to stop her from backing up, why is your cruiser in front of her car?
