The Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling were taking the world by storm even before the final books had even been published. Naturally, a film adaptation was needed. With the success of the books, the movies were pretty much guaranteed to be a success, and that they were-- bringing in billions of dollars at the box office.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone definitely raises some questions though. Like why is Dumbledore doing such public magic in an effort to not be seen doing magic? Why leave Harry with horrible people and not check in on him? Why send so many letters when Howlers are a thing? Why do they celebrate Christmas? Why did Harry get rewarded for essentially making the situation more dangerous? Why is everyone so happy that he killed a teacher?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Hey Potter Heads, would you like to see the entire franchise's Pitch Meetings?
  • @Bendrix27
"Hey everybody, shut the hell up!" - Dumbledore said calmly.
  • Now that I'm thinking about it, the daily life of Quirell and Voldemort sounds like a hilarious sitcom.
  • Does anyone else ever wonder if Voldemort ever helped Quirrel with his lesson plans?
  • @KingDugan
6:59 "Everybody shut the hell up, because Harry Potter here killed one of the teachers with his bare hands." I really like how this is phrased. It makes it seem like Dumbledore is more focused with how awesome it was rather than Harry being heroic.

4:55 Ron was not a drama queen. He was a drama knight.
  • @soratruekid
"Harry killed a teacher with his bare hands." This has realistically become a different movie than I remember.
  • @emilymiller5785
“Do you think they ever said goodnight?” A Very Potter Musical would like a word
  • @Mr_Flerb
“Maybe let’s not think about this too much,” should be printed on the cover of every Harry Potter book in large, friendly letters.
  • Quirrell saying good night to Voldemort while squishing his face into the pillow is now canon I decided.
  • @mrcat3493
A sitcom of Quirrell and Voldemort’s face as roommates would have been epic.
  • @joesomenumbers
My favorite thing about Hogwarts is that the whole series I was thinking at the end all the houses were going to come together but....nope, Slytherins are just all irredeemably evil. And the teachers know this. And they teach them magic anyway.
  • @nugzin5742
Harry: "I get house points for murdering people?" Gandalf: "Yeah yeah yeah!" "Wow, murdering people is TIGHT!"
  • @CatJetRat
"He chooses to be friends with Ron instead who's so mean to Hermione that she cries in a bathroom." The truth here tho
  • @ellayted9522
Dear Lord, that "child killing a teacher" running joke is just soooo hilarious. 😂
  • @victorrios5606
“Do you think they ever said goodnight to each other?” That’s gold LMAO
  • @lckaboom6810
“Oh, his mother’s love is tight!” Snape: LET ME AT HIM
  • @nightshade7240
"you think he went to scratch his head and poked the Dark Lord in the eye?" Oh my gods, it hurts from laughing. I had never thought of that, thank you.
