Making an Overhead Dust Collection Arm with Maker Pipe Fittings | Shop Project

Published 2022-05-23
Dust collection is essential no matter the size or shape of your shop. Dedicated piping is expensive, and loose hoses get in the way. Today, we're making an inexpensive overhead dust collection arm with EMT conduit and Maker Pipe fittings.

  • Do you overcomplicate projects? How do you keep your solutions simple?

Great idea using conduit. one thing to help with the support is to reverse the angled bar. Instead of having it on the top which creates an outspread (stretched) if placed on the bottom you have a compressed support. Only problem would be the vacuum hose and handle will be higher up. Overall a great idea. Thank you

I absolutely over complicate projects! That's why I do sketches and try to simplify. Sometimes I have to build the thing to get the insight to make it simpler (actually make and use it to see i'm an idiot). Great project and great job with the video! Keep it going!
  • Awesome video man, it deserves a few zeros behind the view count total! I'm looking for ideas to make a boom arm for my shop and yours is a really great alternative to plywood

You need to tone down the music please pal in your future vids if you're keen to boost your subs, I found it way too loud and an unnecessary distraction.
