I was singing this with headphones in and took them out and heard my sister laughing ;-;

I have a very personal connection with this song, and I cry every time I hear it. Out in public, in school, Heck, we're singing it for show choir this year. Last year, on September 16, 2018, my friend, and one of the greatest guys I've ever known, Mason Kirk, passed away in a car accident. This was his favorite song, and having to sing it with the other kids at his funeral was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. He was a true inspiration to us and a real leader to our music programs at my school. We had just won first place at our first marching band competition this season, and the very next day, he was killed. Not drunk, nor was the other person, but killed, none the less. The last thing he ever said to one of my band directors is that he was proud of me and that I was becoming a leader, and just knowing that makes me cry even harder when I sing this song or hear it or just anything. Rest in piece, Mason Kirk. We miss you so much.

If you don’t sing and just listen to the music it sounds so beautiful. All the string and percussion instruments mashed together sound amazing. I’m actually in love.

This song was our graduation song. I remember the whole grade being out in the sun all day to practice this in the field. We would always be led by like the lead teacher in the grade and we would sing. We had to memorize it too. I guess the night was memorable, given it was graduation. Whoever chose the song did well, and for once there was something good. All the people I've known that year, none of them I met again. Graduation really is graduation from everything.

This song randomly appeared on my recommended years after I last listened to it and for some reason I got so emotional that I almost started crying, I sang this in my school choir but I always loved the song and now I really understand the lyrics and I have become much more confident with my voice and yeah I didn't know you could miss a song without realising you've missed it.
