The father of actor David McCallum (Man From Uncle, NCIS) was the string orchestra leader and session musician who, back when Page was also doing sessions before the Yardbirds, suggested to Page that he try a bow on the guitar.
  • They're playing Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock" in the middle of the song. In another live performance, they play Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco."
  • The version they played for the movie “The song remains the same” is even better.

And go figure, my daughter, when she was only 20, ended up at a street crossing in Austin with Robert Plant. She was born in 92. He and she had a short and cordial conversation. Immediately afterwards, she called me. And said "OMG Mommy, guess who I just talked to!!!!" She knew all about him. She grew up listening to Led Zeppelin She told me she had no thought of asking for his autograph. Good for her. He lived in Austin for a few years. Our daughter went to UT.

What you get when Artists are playing what interests them, not just regurgitating what they have already done. However great that was

This is an exceptional example of how Led Zeppelin took the studio song, and each concert improvised and made it different every single time they performed it. Jimmy is wearing his black and gold Dragon Suit. He had several custom made suits with intricate details. This is the longest version of Dazed and Confused I’ve heard. Sometimes when Jimmy went off like this, Bonzo and JPJ would take over and force him to go along with them so the song would end. Jimmy would just get in these musical trances and play whatever his emotions created. They almost always put other songs in the middle of this song. Plant and Page loved doing call and response. Led Zeppelin live is a whole different animal than their studio albums. This is why many of us think they are the best ever.

Saw half of a show on Feb.28,1975. We got lost in the fog on the River Road going from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. The weed & the wine didn't help matters. Oh well. Half of a Zepplin show was still a treat.
  • @danevans5823
That was Joni Mitchell song, Woodstock.Plant wrote California in honor of her
  • The difference in this band is Bonham followed Jimmy...JPJ follows Bonham and rarely takes his eyes off him! Robert throws in just at the right time!!

Jimmy Page has said in interviews in the past that they were always always sold out for every show ....and that just blows my mind. and gives you an understanding of how good they really really were. side note- Jimmy's hair looks amazing in this video.....🤍
  • The best and longest Dazed And Confused was msg 1973!! Jimmy was ON FIRE!!

Robert plant was pretty datn cute back then😂What a performer!. Jimmie did session work at Abby Road early on. Lordy I haven't seen this since I don't even remember it's been so long. What a great show! What fabulous performers in their peak. Yeah I'm gonna grab my pen now, I ain't gonna just sit here for this fun performance. I just came in from outside preparing for the tropical storm. Lots of butterflies out in the gardens today. This old lady is tired now But ready to rock n roll 🤘

Everything is so good about this band and they had fabulous hair as well. BTW Brian May from Queen still has great hair but white now😂 love him too. Guitar rock ❤

Too many mistakingly label LZ metal. As you say Lee, they are primarily Hard Rock and Blues Rock. But they can be Folk, Psychedelic, Progressive, even Pop (rarely, but not never). Or blends of any of these. And always the very best of any and all of these.

I've never heard this version before and when I graduated from high school in 79', we got a "memories" book and one of the memories was "What is your favorite song?". I immediately wrote "Dazed and Confused". Awesome.
  • @stevepas1
