  • I was honestly very surprised by how much I enjoyed one of China's non Tier 1 Cities - I could spend some time here! If you're looking for things to do in China, we booked all of our attractions on Trip (not sponsored): www.trip.com/t/yCRo0WmOHV1
  • Kunming is the capital city of Yunnan Province, but it is also a big city. In fact, the most fascinating places in Yunnan Province are Lijiang, Dali, Xishuangbanna, Shangri-La and so on. Where the natural scenery is the most beautiful. Yunnan is also a very beautiful word in Chinese, which means the south of colorful clouds, and the artistic conception is very beautiful. I hope you will have the opportunity to visit the old town of Lijiang, There is a saying called“家家流水,户户垂杨”It means that every home has a natural stream and weeping willows, and the natural scenery is particularly beautiful.😊😊
  • Hi Michael! My daughter (11) and I (also introverts) absolutely love watching your videos. We are in Perth WA. We are a new member of Josie’s channel too. I wanted to comment on another of your videos about the succulent Chinese meal 😂😂. Keep doing what your doing, we love all your content and really appreciate it. My daughter wakes up every morning asking if Michael or Josie have posted 😊😊 I love knowing that I can put you and Josie’s videos on knowing that it’s “safe” and my daughter and I can watch it together. It’s super appreciated. I also wanted to mention that you and Josie often talk about the video not going well when Josie’s drone got lost, just wanted to let you know that’s the video that got us hooked on watching you both!! So it wasn’t all bad!!
  • my partner and I just came back from Kunming, very nice weather there. People are super friendly there. You and Josie should spend more time there, at least go the stone forest outside of kunming (0.5 hour train or 1 hour drive), it is insane. I can guess you guys are heading to Li jiang, you miss Dali. Me and my partner like Dali more than Lijiang. Good Luck on Jade Dragon mountain, we went there on a terrible weather day. Cant see anything on the top. But blue lakes under the mountain are still very pretty.
  • Wow...How can you miss the rose flower cake and meat cake in Kunming. Must try!

Please please don’t mind the stare though I know it is annoying because we got stared at also and we are overseas Asian. But if you say Nihao to them they would give you the biggest widest smiles. It’s curiosity not hostility, rest assured. Kunming is known as the “spring city” for its mild temperature all year round. Enjoy your trips in China.
  • China is so beautiful, safe and clean with so much attractions.
  • @haomeister
Don’t mind the staring… it’s probably 20% you being a foreigner, 20% being a big fella, and 60% extra being both…lol. Let me tell you a story. I was there some years ago, and was going to some high altitude place, and in need of some xxl size clothes. I went to that Uniqlo flagship store, and they told me in the whole of south west provinces in China., there is no size bigger than xl readily available. and my XXL is likely just an L in Aussie. Yunnan is a very versatile and beautiful place, and very very much worth exploring. I can guarantee you will be amazed. Have fun in China.
  • @HHTALK
glad you guys are enjoying your stay in China
  • @helxsz
I know Kunming is famous for its flower market and a tourist attraction like the Dianchi lake with many birds
  • @lotusz9573
China not only has cities, but also natural scenery. It's very strange that Westerners only travel to China's cities.
  • @AnbenK
I hope US has the railway system they have in China so we don't have to drive 10 hours from state to state
  • @shuguo5882
Welcome! Kunming is the place I grew up until 18 years old. Now I've staying in Melbourne for nearly 18 years. I call both my hometown. Comparing other places I stayed, these two actually share lots of similarities. I really suggest you make some local friends who, and only who knows where to find the most delicious authentic local foods.
  • @helentang6471
Michael, thanks for pointing out the history. That’s why there is an old saying in Chinese,,,”Better travel ten thousand miles than to read a thousand books.” Travel does provide us with different perspectives on things.
  • @erictsui8802
you guys could buy the freshest and cheapest flowers there, they are not lying about the spring city
  • @alexk5772
There are 660 cities in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macao), including 4 first-tier cities, 15 new first-tier cities, 36 second-tier cities, and 70 third-tier cities. Kunming ranks 33rd in GDP in 2023, and is a second-tier city. In other words, there are more than 50 cities in China that are better than Kunming or similar to Kunming.
  • @bryanlee901
you should go to Lijiang (Chinese: 丽江), that is beautiful!!
  • @dantifer
Kunming has a nickname "Spring City".
