Kundalini Yoga -- as Envisioned by the Ancient Yogis

Published 2018-06-06
Feature-length film explores kundalini yoga's origins in ancient India and documents the practice of a contemporary traditionally-trained Hindu monk who attempts to "follow in the footsteps" of the ancient yogis who recorded their mystical experiences of kundalini in scriptures known as Yoga Upanishads.

Written and produced by Swami Tadatmananda, a Sanskrit scholar, meditation practitioner, teacher of Advaita Vedanta, and founder of Arsha Bodha Center. For more information, please see: www.arshabodha.org/

I hope that some of you may watch the whole video and offer some respect to this swami who has spent years studying the teachings of the sages of ancient India - and then put so much generous kindness into producing this thoughtful, high-quality documentary.

“Beliefs are not right or wrong. They are helpful or harmful.” beautifully put.

Im so happy I decided to learn from my lsd experiences. I took it at my darkest nights and now im at complete oneness and peace. I have been spiritually growing exponentially and i have been changing every single day since to become my true self and co creating with the universe. I am so grateful for all that those experiences taught me.
  • I don’t agree that without Yoga, spiritual awakening can’t happen. Lots of different paths to spiritual awakening. I’m Native American and though our tribes have different ceremonies, we still have spiritual awakening. In fact for traditionalists, this is the focus of life for thousands of years. I believe many cultures have a path to enlightenment. Truth is the same no matter which perception or language we wrap around it, therefore truth is in the event and not in our perception. Perception simply allows the potential for the pursuit of enlightenment. There is no promise of attainment for one culture compared to another. Any human being can successfully pursue, regardless of their background.
  • Regardless of who you are, where you're from, what you believe, or what you've done in the past...I love you. You're never alone. We are in this together my brothers and sisters.

Every person has their own path. When you are ready, you will open up and the teacher will appear. I had practiced various forms of yoga and over time, I just opened up inside. I met my guru, she gave me a mantra and an Amythest crystal. From that, I met my "inner self" and all has been a deeper conciousness on the spiritual journey ever since.
  • finally a really honest, fully informative, scientific and no-BS film on kundalini awakening. thank you this! i'm sure i'll come back to it again.

I've heard or read that the highest form of learning is unlearning and the highest form of intelligence is the ability to observe without evaluating.

Best, and most accurate, english video on Kundalini I've ever seen

"Beliefs are not right or wrong. They are helpful or harmful." Very well said - so much harm could be prevented, if people would keep that in mind.
  • @Stella.J.000
Extremely talented teacher... beyond words. After all these years, I am still amazed.. xx..
  • @johnburman966
It's always been a puzzle why great experiences never stayed, why I went back to ignorance. The growth of knowledge is slow and steady. I now understand the reason for both yoga and advaita....thank you for all your work.
  • @28peruvian
I had my first kundalini awakening in 2017 without knowing what it was. I grew up in a very religious home but truly never understood or felt that those teachings and indoctrination’s aligned with who I truly am. Early in 2018 I had another which propelled me into spiritual research and a hunger for knowledge....it was mush later when I finally understood that that spontaneous energy surge traveling up my spine, it felt like an orgasm but hundreds times more intense traveling up my spine..This has completely changed me in every way, and has make me embark into a spiritual journey and hunger for spiritual knowledge.
  • @HTGMr
Thank you, Swamiji. This is the most honest take on kundalini yoga I have ever seen. This will benefit mankind in years to come. it will bring back the ancient tradition back to it's true roots. Thank You again. May god give you the courage to say it as it is.
