    Where I am from, an earthquake with such magnitude will definitely cause major damage and tons of deaths. We will not be able to recover in ages, at least those who survives. Huge respect for Japan's people. They are a role model in so many aspects!

    It never ceases to amaze me just how well prepared Japan is for large earthquakes. That was a 7.1 and most places didn’t even lose power let alone suffer any damage whatsoever. Our country should hang onto some of its money and stop passing it out like cigarettes on a street corner and retrofit most of the west coast before it costs us ten times that amount in damages and fatalities when we eventually get hit with a large quake as well.
