  • This music takes me back to the Silk Road, traveling by Caravan. A reminder of a past life, perhaps?
  • @paulreddy3851
Deep in the desert looking up at the stars in the night sky with this music playing softly...Sublime.
  • @viktorbraun5303
The desert was not only green before. Just open your eyes.. As long as the humanity can dream about peace and brotherhood on earth, you'll see the green.
  • @imagine1300
No, there are no words that can express the beauty of this sound. I cannot even write it down; it's like magic.

This music transports me to ancient places, ancient peoples & traditions. Takes me to a place I have never been, nor or likely to see, but I feel connected via the music.
  • @catsven1973
awesome the arabic music is still the most devine and mysterious gate to the soul!!
  • @samfischer-l6p
Great intro. This is the instrument (oud) that muslims brought to Spain (when it was under Moroccan rule) and it gave birth to western guitar. Piano came from Italy but guitar from Arabs. Civilisations are connected. People are connected. Scottish Bagpipes are from Persia with Arabian beats. Men of the desert valued loyalty, (Arabian stallions are very connected to humans and are loyal), knew how to locate themselves by studying stars . They knew how to preserve harmony between men, nature and animals and valued life. They were free. Fascinating. Love and peace for all humans

  • What is OUD? The oud (Arabic: عود) is a short-neck lute-type, pear-shaped, fretless stringed instrument (a chordophone in the Hornbostel–Sachs classification of instruments), usually with 11 strings grouped in six courses, but some models have five or seven courses, with 10 or 13 strings respectively. The oud is very similar to other types of lute, and to Western lutes. Similar instruments have been used in the Middle East, North Africa (particularly the Maghreb, Egypt and Somalia), and Central Asia for thousands of years, including Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Caucasus, the Levant, anatolian Greeks, Albania and Bulgaria; there may even be prehistoric antecedents of the lute. The oud, as a fundamental difference with the western lute, has no frets and a smaller neck. It is the direct successor of the Persian Barbat lute. The oldest surviving oud is thought to be in Brussels, at the Museum of Musical Instruments.

It is good that it begins with some percussion, it gives it a "flow", a heart beat, which is missing in most videos playing the Oud
