I am in Au. Im so over the horrid prices in op shops. I gave up.

Vinnies has ridiculously high prices I don’t even walk in there!

Samaritans at Wallsend Newcastle NSW is the best op-shop ever!

vinnies and the salvation army have such high prices, they think they're vintage stores. More locally owned Op shops have reasonable prices

Bec& Bridge are popular in Hollywood.

Sydney rents are sky high so it impacts the prices.

Have you been to Noffs? Super cheap prices, most things $5. I went this past weekend and everything was half off! Got a $1 Stellino top and $5 Marcs skirt. They dont have as good a selection as other op shops, but worth the rummage! Salvos have sales on certain days with different coloured tags. My all time favourite is U-turn Warehouse in Punchbowl. The selection there is huge. They sell by the kilo at the back section and do discounts in sets of three (eg 3 tops for $18). Nothing is priced individually so great prices on big brands! Definitely worth a drive out. You could spend all day there and not finish. They also have an awesome membership system where you get points that turn into money off your next buy. Anyway hope that helps a bit as you start. Welcome to thrifting in Sydney!

Wow those prices 😮 Sydney is one of the most expensive cities to shop in Australia, I’m 2 hours from Melbourne I find our local op shop is $5 an item no mark ups and Ballarat is anywhere from $4 to $15 I hope you find some of the better priced shops those prices are ridiculous. Good luck 🤞

People are becoming more savvy with prices. I buy a lot on ebay but I get better prices there than at the Op Shops. The Oppies are too expensive these days & I only buy bargains, good fabrics & vintage. Most items I buy on ebay are way under $100. There are far too many small sizes on offer & not enough medium to large which are the more saleable & searched for sizes.

I noticed you picked up something that had a tag saying $40 and then said it was too expensive at $60? Were you trying to convert to US$ and doing it incorrectly? There are plenty of markets you can visit. Blacktown drive in market is every Sunday. $2 entry and lots of super cheap stuff.
