This is the story of the hunt for the Kuudra Mandible, an extremely elaborate scavenger hunt that took me and thousands of other players 363 days to solve.

this video is by far the biggest project I’ve ever worked on, so I hope you enjoy it! let’s just hope the next upload after this doesn’t also take, uhh, 615 days to upload as well (oops lol)

Do you guys ever think that skyblock is an elaborate practical joke by the admins to see what ridiculous things they can convince people to do for marginally better stats? -Technoblade, flying in skybock

I cannot wait for the next hunt to take 10 whole years to complete

Dang, the admins suck at setting up logical hunts and giving hints. But wow these are some incredibly committed players.

Since the last video, I've become a great-grandfather, my house has been eroded by the elements and aliens have invaded the planet, but upon receiving this notification I had no choice but to dig my old laptop out of the ruins and have a watch. Thanks Pigicial.

Wow, I just watched an hour long documentary of a man and his group's descent to madness. I am a big fan of online ARG's and puzzles and i've seen tons of documentaries on them, and i can safely say that this entire kuudra mandible hunt puzzle was one of the most brutal out there, mostly due to how vague it got towards the later parts of it, and how much you had to sacrifice to get to it. GG's to you and the entire team.

Bro imagine how far humanity would be if skyblock players were inventors

I’m really glad they acknowledged the fact that the second half of this hunt was so poorly designed. Even when you have the solution it’s still not entirely clear how you were supposed to reach it. The fact that dozens of hints had to be given makes it glaringly obvious that the information required to solve the mystery was not readily accessible to even the most hardcore of players and that the puzzle itself just was not designed well.

This hunt was easily my favorite experience in all my years of SkyBlock, and I honestly doubt anything's every going to surpass it. I got to meet a lot of very cool people and had an amazing time. All in all, I'm happy that I joined the hunt, even if it did drain my sanity at times. The memories I've made are worth more than any armor edition could ever possibly be. ̶N̶o̶ ̶I̶ ̶a̶m̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶m̶a̶l̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶f̶a̶c̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶I̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶l̶i̶t̶e̶r̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶F̶I̶V̶E̶ ̶P̶I̶X̶E̶L̶S̶ ̶A̶W̶A̶Y̶ ̶F̶R̶O̶M̶ ̶E̶D̶I̶T̶I̶O̶N̶ ̶1̶ ̶C̶H̶E̶S̶T̶P̶L̶A̶T̶E̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶d̶o̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶m̶e̶a̶n̶

This was hands down the greatest Skyblock video I've ever seen. Huge props to everyone involved, from the brilliant hunters to the devs who made this possible in the first place.

Spending 1 year to get a 1 bonus fishing speed is such a Skyblock player move
  • So you basically got scammed by the Admins out of your money and time. I would be murderous.
  • What an inventive way to fight hyperinflation! Just make the players all sink money into an expensive search.
  • @penguinyen645
this proves the admins will do literally anything before updating foraging
  • @neutralaim
I dont think a single person skipped any part of this video. It was worth the year and the global skyblock economy.
  • @jkx349
For 81, it's probably the nine layers of hell, and you need 2 people in each location, so 9 to the power of 2 is 81. Also, the to the power of symbol "^" looks like an arch.
  • It's so incredibly impressive that you guys beat such an insane and poorly designed hunt. There were points in this video I was getting so frustrated on your behalf! You have some insane dedication for toughing it out all the way to the end and getting the mandible! Congrats to the whole team! Vaugue clues, huge amounts of RNG, instructions from the devs that were contradictory or misleading!!! A well designed riddle is challenging but does NOT have multiple possible, equally defensible, answers. Having to grind and collectively scour the map for elusive clues is expected in these sort of MMO games, but those equations are just indefensible. The fact that the devs had to resort to giving daily hints, and some of the admins even helping the team with answers on discord, speaks volumes to how well put together this hunt was. Some of these requirements, like forcing the players to wear a freaking CLOWN mask to get a "hang in there" cat photo on a soggy napkin... Mocking all your most invested and dedicated players... real classy move. That must have been so frustrating for people. This was not a brilliant and challenging hunt. This was a thrown-together goose chase, with clues that weren't so much "intellectually challenging" as they were technically true about as often as a broken clock. I can't imagine people had a lot of fun with this after the first few months, but I can imagine the relief at finally beating it after a year.

this video reminds me of the hunt from ready player one (the book not the movie) like difficult puzzles and random things to do. beautiful story and the best part about it was the community you made along the way not just the item itself.
