I love that this series has accidentally become a civics lesson on how a bill *actually* becomes a law. High school government classes don’t tend to cover the bureaucratic complications of actual implementation.

It’s funny Trudeau says Canada has no national identity but then wants to push a law “promoting Canadian national identity”. This should be enough to tell people this is all about power.

As a Canadian, one of the most influential pieces of media I grew up with is Mythbusters. Mythbusters is not a Canadian show, but instead a show that has inspired a generation of people around the world to peruse careers in science. Mythbusters is not good Canadian content, it is content that is good for Canada.

The CRTC Should Not have any Control of what We Decide to watch on the World Wide Internet. I want my News and tired of the Growing Censorship. Even here on U-Tube.
  • Has anyone suggested that the reason for the financial failure of Canadian media has nothin to do with "streaming platforms" but that the product of Canadian media is so bad even funding will not bring viewers back.

As a Spaniard, I never thought I'd be this invested in a Canadian social media related law. 😂😂😂

One should rarely, if ever, cheer for their government to be incompetent. I wholeheartedly embrace this exception! Thanks for continuing to fight the good fight J.J.!

If a company cannot compete without government help, it does not deserve to exist.

Hi JJ. I am from Alberta and travelling Australia. I ran into someone from Nova Scotia the other day and we talked about how much we enjoy watching your videos. Just thought that was cool.

This bill really is the peak example of “this problem matters to us, so we are going to organize a task force to form a committee to create a think tank to begin to outline an implementation plan and organize a structure to…”
  • @neomarioism
you have been at the forefront of representing the publics real feelings on this bill. as a non-canadian i appreciate your effort and journalism.

Wow. Even when J.J. had every right to spike the football and gloat a bit, he remained fair and even-tempered about this awful law. Well fought, Sir! I hope things play out as you have predicted.

as someone who has voted for the Liberals in the past, C11 is a good example of both their recent priorities as well as why I won't vote for them in 2025.
