Betty Boop is a poor-but-honest-actress in the Gay 90s who, hungry and cold, gets a job as a singer in a dance-hall saloon. The villainous owner makes unwanted advances, annoys and slaps her around a little, until a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman shows up.

I love how the play is a trainwreck, like when they fell off the sled and she apologized to the audience and when they were fudging their way through lines they forgot. Betty Boop always seemed more timeless in it's comedy than a lot of cartoon shorts from this time.

It’s like an animated version of the Play That Goes Wrong
  • I noticed that the backgrounds would cut to translations. Was that done by the Fleischer's themselves or in France?

I don't understand the casting here since they had already established Freddie as Betty's Love Interest. While there were problems with his character design, his design was better than the one for this Mountie Character, and a better choice. But a good choice was not made here.

3:20 Betty Boop is wearing a Flower & Napkin on the Right side of Head & wearing Only One Earring on Her Left side. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
