Take a step every single day towards where you want to be in life, and eventually you will reach your destination.🚶

Most other media pulls me away from my work. These videos often push me back in to the deep end. Thank you for this.
  • @TrevorDaniel
diaz talking about it not being until “momentum” died to write his best work really speaks volumes

"You have to be aggressive with the love you have for yourself" (aka your self belief, in the context of your creative work). Damn Erykah ♡ ♡ thank you for another incredible video, you are on an absolute roll of inspired work atm! the journal questions and the whole structuring of one's time and life around our creativity bit were so helpful and not the type of advice and guidance i recall ever having come across before. I needed this ty x

As a artist I feel like it’s all about mastering and tapping into your “flow state”. The more you do something , the easier it will come. And when u feel u have something in the way of creating, talk about what it is that’s going on with you .

For all my creative brothers and sisters. A great book to read “the artists way…” by Julia Cameron. Changed my life when I was 20/21.

I relate a lot to what Mac Miller said regarding his isolation phase. I feel like Ive been in that mode for a few years and I'm still there and its terribly lonely but also its really weird to be around me rn because I'm so focused on my music and my goals so I know that eventually when I learn how to balance that a bit better Ill attract the right people my way.

Really want to say thank you for these videos. I’ve been having so many questions towards the creative process and these videos on your channel have really been a north star for me. Appreciate you ❤

Journaling and keeping track of dreams have both been v helpful. It takes so much energy to put out something that is genuinely yours, I resonate with needing to have period of withdrawal from the outside world. Thank you for sharing!

You should do a video on age. As in older artist breaking through a lot of ppl give up as they get older but there’s a lot of artist that don’t start their career until 30 plus. Would love to hear your perspective on that

    1. Live life for awhile 2. Don't watch or listen to anything creative...alot of times it seeps into your work unconsciously and u don't realize it til later 3. Minimalism...if u can't do it at the most basic level with the most basic equipment...u can't really do it 4. Don't rush...have a plan 5. Be flexible with the vision...alot times artists don't want to get rid of some songs on projects because artists think everything is great because they created it...not always true...other songs might flow better with the overall theme

Assessment of your surroundings and not being scared to change them is what an artist is in society

As a training actor, and new writer, I’m currently in the long process of finding a daily routine where my best work comes through. I am beginning to understand, however, that I am a lot more distracted than I thought I was. Even just 10 minutes of shallow, useless, happy brain chemical spiking scrolling on my phone can kill my passion for the following hour. I need to feel genuinely good, at a soul level. I’m beginning to include activities on the daily that help with this, but with that, I’m also worried that it takes away from my time spent working on my creative endeavours. Your journaling prompt about that has fully opened my eyes to that thought that was kinda floating in my head. People like to talk about finding balance in life, but I’ve realised now that ‘balance’ as a creative is wayyyy different. Thank you for this great video

I did the little amount I could each day in 2022. Each of those days I felt like I wasn’t doing shit. At the end of the year, I looked back and saw all the growth that accumulated and in 2023, I didn’t doubt my pace anymore.

The deep knowing that your purpose you’re heading towards is going to come to fruition, that is everything. No doubt.💜

As an unknown artist who lives my life every day out of passion for music, this video was extremely inspiring, motivating, and reassuring. Many of these clips I’ve seen before, but in the context of this video, the commentary, the insight, everything about this 30 minute piece is a work of art in it of itself. Always appreciative of this channel and these videos, but for the current time in my life this video spoke volumes to me. Especially the Frank Ocean part, being in an artistic bubble, especially when you center your life around your passion, is so important & crucial to the process. That’s how the best work gets done and how timeless art is made. At least for my artistry, that’s the aspect I relate the most to. Also, I wasn’t familiar with Junot Diaz before this but everything he said was golden. I need to go do some research on his work! But seeing these great artists I look up to in so many ways have the same thoughts and mindsets as myself, an unknown artist, is very reassuring. Just have to stay on the path day by day.

  • @claraleitao8571
thank you so much for this! As a visual artist I can relate to the feelings of isolation and strained relationships due to the time I need to dedicate to my work. It is a real need, which I'm learning to accept, instead of looking at it as being selfish. Time & freedom are so important for the creative practice. Finding your own way of doing things is also a complex process, sometimes the time you need to create something can be completely "inconvenient" and against the rushed world we live in. I'm learning that it is important to let myself be guided by the natural timing of my creative practice.

Amazingly helpful video. I think J Cole talked about the one important item - being one step closer every day. None of this is overnight. Just keep moving forward, everyday, some amount. It adds up.

I’ve never seen this channel, or your videos. I subscribed after 40 seconds, that’s how tight that opening hook was. I’m sold
