"the images are on par with a dslr" ah wsj you make me laugh

gopro was made for action and being as small as possible, this is the complete opposite of this, if you want to affordable camera, buy something like a cannon 600 or 700D!

I have a cabinet where I store my camera gear. Wish it was as well stocked as that!
  • I have a Lumix GXSeries which is larger than this Gopro mod but still small enough to be easily portable. I have a fishing waistcoat and it fits comfortably in the main pocket. The loss of many controls and the cost make the Gopro a Go-no for me. It will always be a make shift camera and still limited in it's use. it would make more sense just to buy & fit a non fisheye lens.
  • Defeats the purpose of it being an action-cam while taking the risk of voiding your warranty. Just buy a DSLR.

what is the performance of the hero 4 black compared to what is on display in this review?
  • misinformation alarm: Bokeh isn't necessarily hexagonic. That is only the case, when the lens features six aperture blades. A lens with 5 blades will create pentagonic bokeh. And If you open up the aperture all the way, the bokeh will appear circular, regardless of the number of blades.

Or just 'remove fisheye' on the GoPro studio app before editing..

Cheaper to buy a pro canon camera.
  • Where can I get the adapter? and what are they called? can it be left to an eken h9r?
  • @marta-kj8qn
Speciallly that the price for lenses are equal of a  proce of some good new mirror-less cams.

Enjoy trying to focus on your subject without a viewfinder :)

Or just get a camera with m12 lens and put a non distortion lens into it. I have a Gitup F1 camera that is super easy to do it with. New lens was like $15. BUT I also got an M12 to c mount converter and can use c mount lenses and I also got a Pentax lens converter for it for my DSLR lenses and FILTERS :-).

Cheaper to buy an SLR and the bokeh should be more rounded (more aperture blades). It better to buy another camera for £400, think of it as a travel backup.

The GoPro are made or aimed pretty much completely for action sports, and are loved for the wide lens effect. And high fps rate. Ease of use. Value for money. Size. Save yourself money and time, use your brain properly and just go and buy a DSLR for things GoPros aren't meant for. Yeh the GoPro can be used for pretty much everything. But There are times where obviously a DSLR is far superior for ease of use in certain situations. Thats what they are for. That's why they are two separate types of cameras. Each very good at seperate jobs. Don't be one of the idiots walking round with a GoPro that has a humongous Lens attached. Buy a DSLR instead.
