Segregation is not an accurate description of the situation. We are talking about the system of white supremacy as it relates to economics and dislocation

It's not just a Chicago thing; it's really the midwest! You see this a lot in Milwaukee, Detroit, Minneapolis, Cleveland etc. The Midwest is like the southern north!
  • The funny thing is that both Wrigleyville/Lakeview and Lincoln Park (DePaul University College town vibe) are party neighborhoods. During Cubs season, the neighborhoods are wild.

I’m from a very diverse city in the south and it’s amazing to see how whites from the north struggle with diversity here. It’s like a culture shock.
  • @chanej2651
Illinois is just up south. Very racist and segregated here.
  • @ItsDanny91
It’s crazy the racism he had to deal with
  • @kenzocohen4308
But these business are so fire. Just know those racist people from the 60s are still alive and they have kids and grandkids now.

Read the book "Sundown Towns" it talks about racist towns & cities throughout the U.S. The state of Illinois has the MOST "sundown towns" aka segregated aka racist towns/cities/boroughs in the entire country.

I'll be there soon brother. Didn't know about this spot, but now I do. The crew and I ( the church) will be there soon!
  • I commend Mr. Bailey and I hope your business makes a comeback! I also admire Jason Ivy and his mom. Intelligent brothas to be proud of!

CHICAGO HAD BEEN SEGREGATED FOREVER I'M 55 IS BEEN THIS WAY EVER SINCE I CAN REMEMBER
  • @RCsBoy82
I lived directly across the street for 15 years from this location… when the caucasians occupied the place I promise you I never saw a cop car outside
  • @Footballl942
But they will take your money for taxes and everything else.
  • I noticed the segregation but when I think about it people feel free safe and accepted around their own What groups of people are doing now is settle in one are and build in and from that area of the same group, you don’t want to be alone out here it’s becoming hard on your own and it’s coming from all groups because it becomes territorial at times America is nicely segregated you can still move around but your going to know when your not in your lane everything completely changes from language to the look of the area Even if you venture off like myself because I like different your going to eventually feel outside and your going to experience things every now and then
  • @n8o.704
Even within so called diverse neighborhoods in Chicago like Rogers park things are segregated
  • But everybody and they mama can come into our neighborhood and capitalize off us but they stop, block, and hate on us when we cross zip codes utter BS
