The fact that the annulment removed the three mods you wanted is poetic hahaha
  • @ExiledDelver
"Isnt that risky? its like gambling" Subtractem laughing :"Welcome to path of exile"
  • @honordevs
This was fantastic! I would love to see a follow-up episode where he takes you through: 0. Asking you what item you actually want or helping you decide on one for your build 1. Buying the correct base 2. Looking at poe tw for modifiers and picking them out 3. Assessing what your best crafting route is via Craft of Exile 4. Crafting the item That would be absolutely a treat to watch. I just went through that with my friends who are starting the game and while they thought it was a bit overwhelming, the fact that they ended up with a USABLE item at the end made them very fulfilled. That, to me, is what makes poe crafting great.

Your avatar looks different in this video. Did you have someone animate it in Unreal Engine? Looks almost like a real person! Jokes aside, i've been looking forward to this video, i am excited to see you get deep into crafting!
  • @Szokker0
You know this guy mastered the art of crafting in path of exile when you see his hair is gray
  • @Whitewingdevil
I honestly wasn't expecting to watch this whole video, I thought I'd get bored since I'm familiar with most aspects of crafting, but it was so fun seeing the systems reveal themselves to you! Big props to Subtractem for giving a really good primer, he covered all the crafting tools you're most likely to use and explained the Why of why things are expensive in the economy.
  • @hvyweightt
I learned a lot about the end game and crafting from subtractem when I first started. Glad to see you collabing with more PoE creators!
  • @IamMiaga
That jar of marbles weight metaphor is actually great for visualizing.
  • @nami1358
this needs a follow up, it would be cool to make something that can replace a piece of your current gear or something like that
  • To the question 'What should beginners take away from this to help them in the campain' I would say that the most important thing is this. Whe you sense that your build is having problems in damage or resistances. Thanks to the knowledge in this video. you can recognise which of your item is not keeping up with your build (damage or resists). Grab a good BASE(ilvl+sockets) from the vendor in town and throw an essence on it to garanty a rare item.then take your 3-5 mod item to your crafting bench and add life-resists-atkspeed. Getting Literrate with basic crafting like this and being able to fix your problems with what you have on hand is the most empowering/encouraging feeling in the game.

This Video ist so much better than any other Crafting Tutorial out there. i Think it is because Subtractem has to Explain it in the most simple terms to someone that has pretty much no knowledge of crafting and you can also ask questions right away. Sometimes they seem "dumb" but these are the Questions that really does make a difference.
  • I've watched this twice over the last 3 months, it's in my gaming file because I KNOW I'm going to have to watch multiple times in the future. Love it.
  • @vine01
8:50 maw wide open mind blown, that makes sense! never saw it before, now it can't be unseen! thanks Nyx & Subtractem, and that's just the start of it :D cheers \o/
  • @Kuhmate
haha, glad i tuned in <3 5:35 110% true! love @subtractem, hes awesome as a teacher!!!
  • @vgorp3849
Sub is an amazing teacher. Also, I love @45:43 when he fully realizes how the economy is organized with that thousand-yard stare.
  • What a damn good video! Subtractem is an awesome person, and a gem of the community. Thank you so much for doing this, and glad you're so involved with PoE now :)
  • @Limbz89
As a beginner, I have tried to watch a lot of crafting videos to try and grasp an understanding of crafting in PoE. This is the only video I have watched that I have not felt overwhelmed by. Thanks @Nyxvellum and @subtractem for making this video! Seriously, helped out a lot.
  • @HasXXXInCrocs
Love this format. This was so much easier to learn from than just being talked at for half an hour. Like the step by step guide of having you do all these things and watching how it changed the items. Beautiful. Not sure which of you had this idea, but God damn was it brilliant.
  • @kalixsoul
I've watched at least ten tutorials on the matter. You're the most coherent, well explained, good understandable speech manner I've found. Thanks a bunch!
