Fantastic interview. Madchild was thoughtful, clear and inspiring. It is interesting to see that his performance is very much a work of fiction, a character, just like every other successful rapper. Audiences don't want to hear artists rap about their mundane lives and normal feelings. They want anything from a heightened reality to a full on escapist fantasy. But somehow the hip hop marketplace is like professional wrestling, insisting on artists staying in character and appearing to truly be the characters they play. The goal seems to be to sell records to teenage boys who haven't figured out it's not real.

Move'n to Tosa hopefully by the summer, I will finally be able to make one of you'r bands many shows, at least I hope to one day. You'r music saved me and gave me a reason to live again, got sober to the point of almost thinking of becoming a priest...( I didnt though ) I now have a girlfriend who loves me more then anything in the world and I am finally about to join the workforce again or lack there of here in the US.
