Lucky Hank, starring Bob Odenkirk, premieres March 19 on AMC.

Season Three - Episode Six: "Sunset"

Episode Description:
As Walt settles into his new surroundings and meets his new lab partner, Walter, Jr. demands answers about his parents' relationship. Gus faces increasing pressure from the Cousins and offers a shocking compromise. Hank's dogged investigation creates a significant and immediate problem for Walt and Jesse.

Episode Overview:
As the cartel hit men stake out Gus’s restaurant after committing a double murder at a New Mexico reservation home where they are hiding, Hank fails to get his boss to OK a wiretap on the house where he suspects Jesse and his pals are doing business. Ignoring an order to drop the case, Hank stakes out the house where Jesse is persuading Combo and Badger to restart their drug ring. Meanwhile, as Skyler asks about his sudden change of heart about the divorce – and then warns him against using his drug proceeds to support her and their kids – Walt dismisses her concerns and buys himself a new condo. And after explaining to his son that this new arrangement is best for everyone, Walt arrives for his first day of work at Gus’s state-of-the-art drug lab where he is met by his eager and accomplished assistant, Gale Boetticher.

As Walt and Gale bond over their shared love of chemistry, Hank zealously continues his unauthorized stakeout. Though she remains worried about his state of mind, Marie suggests that her husband look to Walt for information. So, after Hank asks him if Jesse owns an RV, Walt realizes that both he and his former partner are in deep trouble and calls Saul Goodman for help. And after tracking Badger to the auto tow yard where he is having the RV repaired, Walt steals it.

As Gus keeps the Cousins at bay by offering to give them the DEA agent who murdered Tuco, Walt delivers the commandeered RV to a wrecking yard to have it destroyed. However, when Jesse arrives to stop him, Walt realizes that he’s been followed by Hank. So, as Walt and Jesse stay locked quietly inside the RV, the wrecking yard owner’s demand to see a search warrant forces Hank to wait for the police. To divert his attention, Walt calls Saul, who then has his secretary call Hank claiming that Marie has been hospitalized following a serious car accident. When Hank falls for the ruse, Walt has just enough time to crush the RV beyond recognition.

Gus killed like 4 birds with this one move. -He got rid of the cousins -He protected Walter and his own profits -He got rid of his competition -He directed the attention of the DEA elsewhere
  • It's crazy how Walter White had no goons, but ultimately Hank was unknowingly his muscle for most of the show.

The cousins were unusually chatty this time. They must really love sunsets

I like how his accent changes when he says "Hank Schrader"
  • Imagine Lyle called Gus during this and said “ Mr fring I just wanted to confirm this weeks schedule with you “

What a fantastic political play by Fring. Sending the cartel onto Schrader then warning him of their coming, hoping to take out two growing problems for him from afar. He's an absolute mastermind.

Fring driving the most boring car on planet Earth was so fitting

I love how they always meet on the middle of nowhere, it makes me wonder if they tell each other some coordinates or if they already have some meet points.
  • @DavvyChappy
This is the moment when Walter White became Hank Schrader.

I saw an interview from these actors "the twin brothers" IRL they were security guards, at the BB set, at least one of them was. Vince Gilligan liked them and made these characters. Daniel and Luis Moncada were born in Honduras and migrated to the USA when they were teens.

I wish to God I could forget this show just so I could watch it again.

His Spanish is like Yoda when speaking English...
  • @rudy_4ier
the most glaring flaw of BB is if you spoke spanish lol. a lot of native spanish speakers describe Gus' spanish as "nails on chalkboard". he didn't need to poison the cartel, he just needed to give them a speech and they'd die.
