Singer songwriter SAM KIM, who has been promoting his first regular album “Sun And Moon” produced by himself and released in November, continues the winter sensibility with the new winter special single “When You Fall (Feat. Chai)”. For the new single, he was involved in composing, arranging and writing the lyrics. SAM KIM and IU each wrote the parts of a man and a woman recalling their beautiful old days. The song is like the winter regards to the person they thought to be forgotten as time passed but who still remains in their unchanged dim memories even over time. SAM KIM’s sweet regards lead to IU’s thoughtful mind, which reminds us of ‘mature breakup’ of couples who loved each other in a clumsy but so passionate way.

Ending a relationship with someone you are still in love with and possibly never being able to see them again, you start to think about the exact things these lyrics portray. As much as you want to be with one person, you can't, and you just wonder if they feel the same way, if they are are in love, if they have moved forward. Through my break up, this song brings me comfort because it reminds me of the memories, but just that -- that they should stay that way as memories, and that I should send him away with faith and hope in my heart that he'll find someone better and that I will too.

I wish I can unlearn the meaning of this song :( When I realized that this song is about letting someone go, the parts that say ‘When you fall *away*, dream of me’ and ‘When you fall *away*, I’ll say hello from here’ do not seem cute anymore, they’re rather terrifyingly painful. It’s like a slow-but-sure stab to the chest, when we have to let the person that means the most to us to go. And we are also fully conscious about it and also hoping for the best to come for their future... I cant listen to this song the same way I used to before... This will be the anthem of my life, forever.
