This game rewrote the record books in ways both good and bad. -- 111 combined points, the most in SEC history in regulation -- 1,370 combined yards, the most in SEC history in regulation -- 15 total touchdowns, the most in SEC history in regulation -- 723 yards for Alabama, the second-most in school history, trailing only the 833 yards Alabama had against Virginia Tech in 1973 -- 647 total yards for Ole Miss, the most ever allowed by an Alabama defense -- 13 receptions for DeVonta Smith, tying the school record set by Amari Cooper against Florida Atlantic and Auburn in 2014 and DJ Hall against Tennessee in 2007 -- 5 rushing touchdowns for Najee Harris, tying the school record set by Santonio Beard against Ole Miss in 2002 and Shaun Alexander against BYU in 1998

After winning the national championship this game feels like it happened years ago. Actually forgot about it. Amazing, unstoppable offense Bama had in 2020.

I swear if Ole Miss would've recovered that onside kick, I would've smashed my TV.
-
This game was stressful for 3 and a half quarters.

I chose to start watching all of the highlights for this year after we won the title last night and this game makes even less sense in hindsight. Ole Miss has a good offense, but they weren't that good. I'm just going to chalk it up to Kiffin knowing exactly what to do against us. Strap in; guys. These games against them are going to be heart attack games again like they were under Freeze.

As we all know, the defense has to improve massively right away for Bama to come out with a win over Georgia this week. This was statistically the worst defensive performance in Alabama football history and I think everyone agrees that it was a shameful display. With the exception of Najee Harris' fumble, the offense played a nearly perfect game against one of the worst defenses in the country, but that won't be sustainable week after week. We heard a lot of talk from the defensive players this offseason about how much they had improved and how they were determined to reestablish the Alabama standard - time for them to back that up.

Mike Gottfried n the Kansas Hawks did this in '84 against the #2 Oklahoma. The new indoor facility was complete that week, plus Homecoming Week. Special teams went to field to practice, rest of the team practice inside. Special teams I believe had exactly 30 minutes then off to locker room at the stadium. A down burst came down exactly when leaving the field. Oklahoma n HC Switzer were on field when all this was going. Well long story short KU 24 OU 8. I know this to all be true I was the coach on the field before during n after the game.

Alabama did look bad on defense. No doubt. But Ole Miss isn't getting enough credit for how good they are on offense. They are outstanding. Reminds me of Oklahoma in recent years. Incredible offense but horrible defense. Alabama has to play better. We're more talented than what was shown.

NAJEE HARRIS NEVER FUMBLED TO THIS DAY!!!

Hard pill to swallow: If Nick Saban doesn’t change the scheme of his 3-4 Defense, Alabama won’t win another championship. It is no way Will Anderson is the only decent pass rusher we got. Play the freshman and other studs riding the bench because this way is obviously not working. This is Saban’s defense at the end of the day, not Pete Golding...

I still say Kiffin had our signals cuz there's no way they went toe to toe with us for so long with that mid Qb 😅
-
Im just so glad that we had waddle for this game
-
You know it's amazing nobody talked about how good Ole Miss is just how bad Bama defense is. I think a lot more SEC teams are going to be in trouble when they face Ole Miss....
-
This game still pisses me off. But I’m still road tide 4life

Mac played his ass off

It’s a whole lot harder to stop the run and pass a against a QB that can move like Corral. Very smooth scrambler plus y’all need to remember Kiffin got to go against Saban everyday for 3years and that’s when we had a #1D every year so he knows things bout saban that no one else knows. Think about this Kiffin went against Kirby Smart,Jeremy Pruitt and Nick Saban everyday in practice so he’s got a hell of a good offensive mind! Roll Tide!
-
Saban goes from stellar defense to stellar offense you can have both Saban
-
24:55 I bet Nick did not wanted him to score just go to the one yard line & run out the clock instead....
-
That's a Pete Golding defense for ya! Break, don't bend! Players out of position to make plays is D Coordinators fault. With the talent Bama brings in EVERY year, there's NO reason our D gave up this much. Good thing Golding is GONE!!!
