Okay, TimeTeam has only three days for a very specific reason. Once upon a time, an archaeologist named Mick Aston had a dream that archaeology could be made interesting to the regular English person. He told a lot of people, and eventually it was decided that a three day dig, over the weekend would be a viable format. Three days, because most of the team have day jobs in various universities in England that bring in an income. This was presented to a television station, and it was picked up, lasted for twenty years, and now archaeology is now available to the entire world, in a wonderfully interesting format, with a cast that has become household names, and celebrities!
  • That moment at 28:50 when Phil gets startled and then expertly covers his suprise was gold to me, watched it 3 times it was so funny. 😂
  • A Roman pub.. Is that one of those places where you make a V with your fingers and get five beers?

This episode was filmed in 2002. Jean Mullinger passed away in january, 2019.
  • I thought I'd watched every new episode of Time Team, and still there's more! Bring it on!
  • The amazing talents of the commentators here, truly super human... ...one person states the ability of knowing the presenters age and season details, just by glancing at the fellas hair quantity! I'm lost for words, that's utterly remarkable 😅😢😂😂🎉

Beautiful place to walk. It looks so peaceful. Ghost hunting channels and such remind me of carnival people and traveling entertainers of old. They may be entertaining but it's all for show. And if they can find a way to monetize it or exploit people's gullibility, they will. I love seeing your beautiful country. :) thanks for the video

Once again, I tumble into an episode I've never seen before. Magic!!
  • I have been watching this program for years, and now rewatching it I realise that I am older than the original main characters! Love to all of you, past and present, and especially those no longer with us! Keep up the good work of making Archaeology enjoyable and understandable, even for senior citizens!
  • 41:23 there's also a perfectly circular pipe right in Phil's road surface, which definitely does not look Roman
